Acacia Boutique Hotel

Liked: This hotel is a gem! Nice rooms and comfortable beds in an excellent beach location. It's very centrally located to lots of central San Juan and just feet away from one of the nicest city beaches in the world. There are lots of local business just a block or two away, and the hotel features one of the best restaurants in the city. I can't recommend it highly enough and we ate there every day. Other nice amenities are a large heated hot tub and a pool in the sister property nearby. This is an easy recommendation for singles, couples and adults.

Disliked: The wi-fi internet access was offline during our stay.

Liked: The property is one minute from the beach and many rooms you do have a view of the beach in between building. The heated pool was like a hot tub and was very cute/convenient if that’s something you’d want to have access to.

Disliked: The facilities are worn and need upkeep. Dirty walls and light switches. Hair on the sink in my first room. Stain on a pillow and hair on the floors when I put on white hotel slippers. Even after switching rooms..: there was pooled water in the room that had to be cleaned up. No remote for said AC. Balcony door on second floor did not lock. Hole in the window. Harassment by staff.

Liked: Very close to the beach and places to eat! I will absolutely stay here again.

Disliked: WiFi was not reliable.

Liked: I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times, usually on solo vacations - this time I had my 5yo son with me for his first trip to PR. We love the beach access (it's right outside the door!) and the walkability to local shops, Condado etc. The rooms are cozy and have tile floors, very practical for the reality of constant beach sand:) AC is cold and showers are hot. Plenty of space to spread out your stuff, too. Staff in both the hotel and the Nichë attached restaurant are friendly. The swimming pool is on an upper floor, outside - very pleasant especially after dark. The food at Nichë is first-class, with menu items such as escargots prepared with a PR style, croque-madame, and generally excellent food for both dinner and brunch.

Disliked: Nothing; I love this hotel which is why I keep coming back. If you are a first time visitor, two things you might want to consider are a) tours generally only pickup/dropoff at the huge hotels, but mostly they will also pick up at e.g. the close by Supermax, which is like a $6 Uber/Lyft away, and b) this hotel, or at least all the rooms I've ever stayed in, are shower-only, no bathtubs. This is more practical for the reality that you'll be bringing in sand with you:)

Liked: Very cool design. Close to shops and beach

This was my favorite place to stay in PR. I stayed one month there in 2024. However, they changed management and it is now horrible. The manager was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I won’t stay there again. There are many amazing new boutique hotels in the area. I’ll book in one of them next time I come to the island.
