Liked: The staff was extremely helpful. The location was amazing with a beautiful garden. The breakfast was simple but delicious.

Liked: STAFF: The staff are kind and helpful - but be warned that most do NOT speak English. GROUNDS: The exterior of the property is quaint and pretty. There are lovely gardens and cobblestone walkways between the properties. SAFETY: It felt quite safe because it's like a little gated village: many buildings surrounded by a very high wall and massive gates. Each little building has 4 hotel rooms, 2 up and 2 down.

Disliked: BREAKFAST: It's terrible - expect to have to eat somewhere else. Breakfast consists of bread that looks like a tough hamburger bun, butter, jelly, bad coffee, an egg (plain fried or plain scrambled only) and fresh fruit (which you of course should not eat for fear of Montezuma's Revenge). RUN DOWN & MALFUNCTIONING PROPERTY: The property is quite run down. Our group stayed in a total of 8 rooms over the course of 2 stays, so we got a good look at the rooms. It's cold at night in Urubamba in July (their winter) so you need heat. The radiators didn't work in our rooms ("We'll fix it tomorrow"). After long discussions they brought us electric space heaters, which didn't heat the rooms. There was no hot water in one of the showers ("We'll fix it tomorrow") so my daughter had to shower in my room. The power went out several times, once for an entire day! The lock on the door of our upstairs suite wouldn't stay locked. The bathroom door lock (one of those push-button locks) kept randomly locking itself and locking us out. Overall it's just an old and tired property: the blankets are pilling, there are no bars on the towel racks, the wood floors are old and peeling, the paint is grimy, the shutters are old and don't close tightly, etc. We wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Liked: Everything! The property was surrounded by plants and flowers, it was very rustic.

Liked: The location is great, the gardens are absolutely gorgeous, a haven in the middle of the city. The staff is very helpful. The rooms and all parts of the hotel are spotless.

Disliked: The rooms are outdated with a strange smell and it is very cold especially in the morning. Breakfast is poor

Liked: The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always willing to help throughout my stay. The breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of options each morning. The property was very clean, quiet, and peaceful, making it a comfortable place to relax. Its location was also convenient, within walking distance of several restaurants and the main square. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this property for its cleanliness, location, and excellent staff.

Disliked: As for areas that could be improved, the hot water pressure in the shower was quite weak, and the water did not get as hot as expected, especially during the evenings when it tended to become colder. Additionally, there was no TV in the room, which may be inconvenient for some guests.

Liked: The property is beautiful. We were there in early May and the gardens were incredible. Many kinds of different flowers, and blooming bushes and trees.

Disliked: Do not trust this hotel to arrange any taxis or tour guides for you. We asked them to arrange a taxi to take us from Cusco airport to the hotel. The taxi never showed up. Then the next day, we had arranged a tour guide through the hotel for 9:30am for Moray and Maras, and were told specific prices separately for a driver and a guide. When we arrived at 9:30 we were told the guide only left Cusco now and will be here in an hour. After a series of frantic phone calls, she said someone is here now to take us, but in the end we had to pay the same amount for one person. Finally, we asked for a taxi to the next town the day of our check out (we thought there’s no way they could mess this up), and the taxi never showed up. She asked the gardener to drive us, in an old car with no seatbelts for the same price originally given. The gardens are beautiful but the incompetence of the staff makes it impossible for us to recommend this hotel.

Liked: Gorgeous gardens and perfect comfortable rooms. The staff is fantastic and I cannot wait to return.
