City Center Hotel Los Angeles

First off, it appeared that the entire facility is in the middle of some renovations. I consider this a good thing, as it shows the owners do care. On top of that, the room I was placed in was nice. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was a tub. I have a degenerative spinal condition and the soak would have been nice at the end of the day. Now, the inevitable "BUT..." IF offered a discount to split your stay between rooms, DO NOT TAKE IT. I almost had to scramble to find accommodations for the second half of my stay by doing that, because the desk clerk tried to tell me that my second half wasn't on the books and there were no rooms available. In LA. During Comic Con Weekend. I started looking immediately, and had managed to find something reasonable and not too far when the clerk managed to fix the problem, and set me up back in the same spot. That was the main wrinkle in an otherwise pleasant weekend. The area surrounding the hotel is not a place most visitors to Los Angeles would find very comfortable walking at night. But there are a few shopping options within a couple blocks. I'd recommend 7th & Fig, besides it being the closest. Food court (open air and enclosed) with nice options, good shopping, including a Nordstrom Rack, and its not a bad place to hang out with friends or to people watch. Overall, if saving money is top priority, you could probably do better if you're willing to learn the LA metro system. Otherwise, I'd say buyer beware. It will do if you need the room, but by no means should it be near the top of the list

Stay away the pictures they show are not accurate 1000 percent!!!! I want a refund

Toilet was broken when I checked in. The handle didn’t connect to the float, and the tank wouldn’t fill. I had to fill the tank from the sink to flush it.

Liked: Dirty tv didn’t work construction going on dusty room not finished

Liked: Location is reasonable for downtown activities, the area is filled with homeless and drug activity. Trash all around human waste and dog waste.

Disliked: Staff was wonderful

Liked: This was the worst stay

Liked: Don't look good thing was the location everything else was bad they were rude nothing worse and it was dirty

Disliked: Everything was bad and dirty and there was wires everywhere do not go there if you have little kids and when we complained that nothing worked they told us they will charge us more money there was wires everywhere nothing worked

Liked: It seems to be going through a remodel but don't judge the inside of the rooms from what's on the outside. We had a newly remodeled room so everything was brand new.

Disliked: The area but that's downtown LA in general.
