Ace Hotel Kyoto

The location of the hotel is excellent with a subway connection. The staff is highly service focused and you are never waiting long. I did not make use of the guitar or the turntable personally. Beds were comfortable, good pillows, pjs on request and room was clean and well maintained. I would stay at this hotel on my next visit to Kyoto. Hiro is also fantastic...he made sure my Yamato delivery went out on time so that my stuff was at my next hotel next day....

Liked: What a cool hotel experience. Normally we like to stay at smaller more boutique hotels but the Ace Kyoto exceeded our expectations especially for such a big hotel. The three in-house restaurants were all very good (if a little pricey) and all had a great vibe with super friendly staff. The breakfast was also very good with a great selection of menus to chose from. The rooms were spacious, very clean and very well laid out. The entire staff treated us with exceptional friendliness and the hotel was buzzing with nearby shops, the downstairs coffee shop and fun events in the inhouse Mexican restaurant.

The Ace in Kyoto is a true gem. The facilities are thoughtful, clean, and well equipped. The location is also ideal and walkable to many attractions. The bar and restaurants onsite are nice options for an evening in as well.

Liked: A record player in each room was a nice touch with a huge selection of vinyl to choose from in reception. The room was spacious and nicely appointed.

Disliked: I get a little bit of back pain sleeping in the bed, but that wasn’t unique to this hotel and might be more of an me issue.

Liked: Beautiful building, tastefully updated, with large rooms and great spaces to explore. Rooms are very comfortable and full of nice touches. There is a subway stop and cinema directly under the hotel. Couldn’t be easier.

Disliked: Nothing about the property, but it did feel like the staff were all “on-edge” and I saw a number of managers being quite direct with the team. Also, check-in was a bit of a shambles purely due to the number of people arriving, and again it felt like management were watching the staff. A bit weird.

Absolutely good location with handy subway access. Hotel by Kengo Kuma The best room! Beautifully designed with a contemporary take on mid-century modern. Amazing bathroom. Breakfasts were more like a good brunch but you pay for it. Attentive, helpful staff.

Liked: Great location. Loved the rooftop bar and ease of accessing directly from the train station.

Disliked: Lobby is always crowded with no place for hotel guests to sit
