Baan Suan Hill Resort

Liked: Lovely room, clean & air conditioned. Very comfortable bed & WiFi + TV worked well. Perfect place to stay if visiting Khao Sok water bungalows & need to be nearby the night before. Staff were lovely and friendly, 7-11 is a short walk away & local restaurants nearby as well.

Disliked: Water pressure in the showers wasn’t great

Disliked: We booked the standard room, which was smelly and outdated on the maintenance. Even the second day, the smell of mold was still strongly present. Bed was very hard. The breakfast was okay. We asked for a breakfast box on the first day, as our boat was leaving at 6am, this was not possible.

Liked: Cozy spot near the lake and dam. There’s a night market open some nights (Saturday at least) across the street. Great, friendly staff.

Liked: We booked the hotel as an overnight stop over on our way to Khao Sok national park due to it being close to the pier from where the boats leave. The hotel has a rustic feel and is in the countryside although close to the town. The restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast has fantastic views across the woodlands and to the distant mountains. The room although small was as expected and equipped with a fridge. We were staying in an older unit which had a covered patio complete with a hammock to relax in. The hammock was great and I spent time in it watching a tropical rainstorm unfold in the distance. The hotel does not have a pool or gym but this was not something we needed for our stay. The local 7-11 is a 10 minute walk and is quite a large one and well stocked with everything you might need. The restaurant had a small menu but something for everyone and the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. My daughter is a vegetarian and was happy with her choices. The hotel staff were very helpful and for a small charge dropped us off at the pier for our boat the next day. I left my headphones in our room and thought that would be the last I saw of them, but the hotel let us know and kept them for us to collect on our way back to Bangkok.

Disliked: The mattress in our room was very firm. Although not to our taste others might prefer a hard mattress. I understand from my daughter who is travelling through Asia that a lot of hotels have very firm mattresses. So if this is not for you check reviews for mattresses before you book.

Liked: cafe is super friendly with great options and free breakfast, staff are lovely and super quick to help with anything you need, a great night stay for the price we paid!

Liked: Location was good for the lake trip we had booked. Staff were very according and arranged a late breakfast for us.

Disliked: Water fur shower wasn’t very warm

1. The bathroom wasn't clean — the toilet bowl had yellow stains. 2. There was no hair dryer. 3. The room was very small. 4. Breakfast included 2 fried eggs, 2 sausages, and unlimited bread per person.

Liked: The helpfull staff!
