Boscolo Lyon Hotel & Spa

Liked: Everything was great. Starting from front desk. The room was spacious and comfortable. Beautiful two open windows looking to the river. I’ll def come back.

Liked: Nice hotel but overpriced

We had been traveling for five weeks and needed a couple of days to rest, so we chose to come to Lyon and stay here. We spent two wonderful, relaxing days enjoying the nearby town in the mornings and the lounge and spa in the afternoons.

Liked: Great location, friendly staff, clean.

Disliked: The clohes cabinat is very small

Liked: We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool and dry sauna. Also, the room was spacious and very well appointed.

Disliked: Our room faced the main boulevard, which could be noisy. Next time we will request a room on the quieter side. Longer term, the hotel might consider more sound-resistant windows.

Excellent location, but rooms are very basic with no drawers and few sockets\. Our 6th\-floor rooms had tiny high windows and both bathrooms smelled unpleasant\. We were moved to better rooms with normal windows and river views\. Pillows were hard, and the bathroom layout was awkward, with the washbasin facing the bed and the WC and shower separated by glass doors.

The location is the only real highlight of our stay. The hotel is beautifully situated in central Lyon, with easy access to the city and the Rhône. Unfortunately, the guest service was very disappointing for a 5-star hotel. At the front desk, one guest cut in front of us while we were waiting in the queue. When we politely pointed this out to the staff member, there was no apology. Instead, we were told, “I don’t see who is in the queue when I’m busy.” I found this response particularly disappointing and unnecessarily dismissive. The service during check-out was also poor. We had five pieces of luggage, and although there was one bellman and three front-desk staff present with no guests checking in at the time, nobody offered to assist us with our luggage to the entrance. We had to manage everything ourselves. The room also had some significant design and comfort issues. The shower design is poorly conceived, with water splashing onto the floor and leaving almost the entire bathroom wet. The mattress was also uncomfortable and caused me backache during the stay. We did use the spa, but unfortunately found the experience fairly average as well. Overall, despite the hotel’s beautiful location and attractive property, the experience did not meet the level of service and comfort I would expect from a 5-star hotel. For us, the location was the main positive; the guest service and room design/comfort were significant disappointments.

After a week vacationing in Paris in a very small apartment, the shower was so luxurious! Breakfast was also great. I would totally recommend a stay here!!!
