Capital Hotel Songshan

This is a great hotel with great views of Taipei 101. Room was very nice and bed was comfortable.

The rate was pretty good on the day I stayed, but the next day — the Friday before National Day — the price suddenly jumped by almost three times, which was a bit outrageous. The rooms are small, but they have everything you need and are reasonably clean. If I really couldn't find a hotel with a better value-for-money, I might consider staying here again if the price were a bit lower. It’s not worth it if it’s too expensive.

Great location. But I stayed for four nights and the sheets were never changed. How do I know? Because there was a very obvious orange stain 🫟 in the exact same spot for all four days 😆 The TV is boring and old with little to watch. You can’t cast from your phone — no YouTube and no Netflix. I think the TV should be updated; most hotels already offer these.

They say it’s far from downtown Taipei, but it’s close to Jiadeh Pineapple Cake main store and perfect if your goal is the Raohe Street Night Market—the night market is right across the street from the hotel, so it’s great to buy things and eat back at the hotel. And the breakfast, which I didn’t expect much from, was absolutely delicious. There were many vegetarian options and a good variety of Taiwanese dishes. It was a small but satisfying, well-thought-out menu. I want to go again. Goodbye.

The hotel is right across from the subway — you can get to the subway entrance and even reach Taiwan Railways via an underground passage, so it’s a very convenient location. The night market is nearby, so you can buy lots of food and eat it in the hotel. You can also eat on the open terrace on the 10th floor while enjoying the view. Our room required a pass, and at first I thought there was no shampoo or body wash, but there was. There was also hand soap. It’s close to the airport, Taipei 101 isn’t that far, and Nangang is walkable if you don’t mind walking. I’d choose to stay here again.

Close to Songshan Station — just a few steps from MRT Songshan Station exits 2 and 3. Convenient for dining, daily necessities, and shopping nearby. Vegetarian buffet breakfast with a wide variety of dishes, very tasty. Has a bathtub, very comfortable for soaking. Minor drawback: For this price, there is no bidet toilet.
