Collection O Southern Star Hotel

The room is really bad and smelly, staff are not professional.i would never try this hotel again

Arrived in the early hours. The guesthouse is in a small alley; the owner sleeps in the lobby, so there’s no worry about check-in. The facilities and cleanliness are average, but the price is cheap. No complimentary bottled water, and the shower head has low water pressure and is hard to use. For travelers arriving early in the morning who don’t want to stay overnight at the airport, this is a pretty good option — it’s about 6 km from the airport. Checked out at 12:15 the next day and accidentally missed the check-out time by 15 minutes; I had to pay an extra 50,000 VND for that, which wasn’t very friendly. Aside from that, no major issues.

I stay two nigts, and find two types of cockroach,2 types of mosquito, and one type ant,the employee give me the Insecticide spray, almost 20 cockroach was killed.

Liked: Cheap. Young guy at front desk was super courteous

Disliked: Very basic. I was there only 6 hrs. Used it for Shit/shower and shave and little rest then off to my next flight

I booked this hotel because it seemed to offer the same value as other hotels in Ho Chi Minh City at a fraction of the price, and I was right. Although it is far from the city center, I like it that way. It is clean, functional, safe, comfortable, and it has absolutely terrific staff and reasonably decent WiFi. It can be difficult to do some things on the WiFi if you don't take certain measures, such as keeping the number of open browser tabs down. But it is very good WiFi by Southeast Asian budget hotel standards. And there are enough outlets that I don't have to unplug the fridge in order to use my laptop or any such inconvenience. I highly recommend this hotel, and especially the wonderful staff that really add extra value to the bargain.

Star looked at me like shit he enemy, area was such a bad area, the hotel was tolerable but we left and got another one in district 1 this was such n district 12, no thanks

I booked the room for the 21st. and received a confirmation number from Agoda. My Vietnamese wife messaged the hotel the day before and advised we would be checking in very early on the 22nd (we only needed the room until the checkout time on the 22nd). They said no problem BUT when we arrived the man at the registration desk advised that we have to prepay and said the confirmation was cancelled. The hotel was full....so we had to seek another hotel.

The room was clean; I was quite satisfied with the service, quality, and price. The hotel is near the market, so eating and getting around are very convenient.
