“Great location for few nights stay.”

In Sydney to attend the Anyma concert at The Domain. Choose The Criterion Hotel due to it's handy location and good price. Check in is later than stated on here, it's actually 1500, but they let me leave my bags and return. Check-in was simple & was shown to my room (number 4) by the bar staff. The room itself was simple but has all the basics including a large TV. The room faced a main road & also noise from downstairs from the bar made it bit tricky to sleep without ear plugs (this was most noticeable Friday & Saturday nights). The room I was in had a very cosy shower & toilet "cubicle". I did see in some of other rooms and they had more spacious traditional bathrooms so if you want that try request it. Room was serviced daily by a really friendly housekeeper. Location was excellent with so much on the doorstep or within walking distance. Lots of great food & pubs close by aswell.

“neglected heritage building”

The staff member who greeted me was lovely and helpful. The other 2 staff members who assisted me in the morning were friendly and helpful., as for the accommodation there was remnants of someone’s dinner on the furniture in the room. Some other surfaces had not been cleaned in a while. The bed seemed clean but I found some hair on a towel. The whole building was neglected and too dirty for the price of the room. I thought for the cost I would find a lovely old hotel that that been restored or maintained, it’s well overdue for maintenance. There sound of some sort of machine that affected my sleep like it was in the walls, not any general sounds of the city.

“Perfect for our needs”

Clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our trip. We were out all day so just wanted somewhere to send the night (didnt need a luxurious setting) Our young kids could walk everywhere, there was minimal noise and everyone slept well. The addition of two toilets and a shower in the room were a game changer. They are only caravan type amenities but again, perfect for what we were after.
