“Beautiful Property, but Not Worth the Price”
Liked: The location was excellent, and having a washer and dryer in the room was a wonderful bonus. I was impressed by the cleanliness, attentive staff, and stylish aesthetic. Housekeeping was fantastic.
Disliked: The amenities were disappointing and, in my opinion, misleading. The listing advertised a “private bathroom,” which I interpreted to mean a private bathroom for each bedroom. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Instead, the suite had only one shower to accommodate up to six guests. The description should have been clearer to help guests make an informed decision. While I was grateful to have running water, the water pressure was very low, and regulating the temperature was frustrating. The shower seemed to offer either hot or cold water, making it difficult to achieve a comfortable temperature. Another inconvenience was the building's single elevator. With multiple floors to service, wait times were often excessive. Overall, the accommodations fell short of our expectations, particularly considering the price we paid. The combination of misleading amenity descriptions, uncomfortable shower conditions, and limited elevator access made our stay disappointing. Unfortunately, we will not return to Don Rafa.

Liked: Beautiful aesthetic overall- without compromising on the necessities. Great combination of luxury and practicality
Disliked: If I was to list anything (which is a struggle) my only comment would be the absence of utensils in the room, considering there’s a sink etc

“Perfect Stay in Puerto Rico!”
Liked: Don Rafa was beautiful! The breakfast area was gorgeous in the main lobby/bar area. The room was much larger than anticipated and very comfortable.

“Exceptional”
Liked: The location is an easy drive from the airport. There is valet parking with attendants who are very nice. The hotel is unique and very beautiful-like a little jewel. The staff is very polite and accommodating. Our bed and room was extremely comfortable and clean. The staff stored our suitcases while we checked out and explored San Juan for a while. We took Ubers to Old San Juan. We were told the hotel is about 2 miles away from Downtown San Juan.
Disliked: Please make sure there is a nightstand to both sides of the bed. Although the breakfast was very good, there were not enough sitting spaces to accommodate all the guests and the staff did not assist with this. The room seemed to clear out while I was eating so perhaps this is not much of a problem.

“Nice but hard to sleep if on ground floor.”
Liked: The room was very nice with good facilities. The hotel reception was very nice and the complimentary breakfast was welcomed. The swimming pool area was well kept and the views were very nice from the rooftop bar and pool.
Disliked: We were located on the ground floor and the acoustics were terrible. It felt like everybody entering the hotel or in the bar was directly outside our door. The bartenders cocktail shaking was particularly loud and annoying making it impossible to sleep. Would strongly advise against having a room on the ground floor!

“Not worth the price I paid”
Liked: I love the beautiful decor of the hotel. It was very clean and it always smelled very nice and it was pretty close to the airport.
Disliked: what I did not like about the property was the continental breakfast. The staff during breakfast had a very nasty attitude and disposition. Also, I didn’t like how the rooftop was closed Monday and Tuesdays. They should put that in the website so you don’t book your room on those days also I did not like how the pool closed at 7 PM. I think the pool should not close until 11 so that way you can have time to hang out and I also didn’t like that. They did not have a sauna or hot tub at the pool. They didn’t have very much to do at all in the hotel itself. The hotel was beautiful, but no entertainment at all whatsoever and then I did not like that. They charge for parking the hotel itself is already pricey. I think everything should’ve been included with the price that they were charging for this hotel. I think it’s very overpriced
