“A 4-star hotel that usurpates its ranking”

Liked: The free shuttle bus to Kwai Fong MTR station that runs every 30 minutes. On the way out, guests have to register at the concierge's desk. On the way back, it's on first-come first-served basis. Very comfortable bed. Ryan, the friendly man in white at the concierge counter.

Disliked: In spite of my 5-night reservation, I was given a corner room without a wardrobe. No place to properly store my clothes. The room hadn't been thourougly cleaned up prior to my arrival, the bathroom in particular. Stains on the mini-desk, narrow closet that contains the mini-fridge, carpet, mirrors. In the bedroom, the thick corner of the glass table top is right against the bed, on the right-hand side. This looks rather hazardous. The hotel's description mentions a store room, but omits to add there is a HKD20 charge per piece left overnight. The Dorsett TS is located in an industrial area with large and tall warehouses. This comes along with the comimgs and goings of lorries, delivery vans and trucks pulling containers. The noise coming from the street is pretty loud due to insufficient noise insulation. This hotel seems to be focused on Asian group tours. During my stay, I came across Mainland Chinese, Indian, Korean and Japanese tourists. Not really the place you want to stay at for a quiet stay or romantic escapade.

“It’s cheap but there are tradeoffs”

Liked: Price was ok

Disliked: Not a very good location. Nothing much nearby and not close to any train station really. Lots of dirty and loud international tourists with little concern for others.

Liked: Very nice property. Excellent staff, smooth check in process. Concierge Tony very helpful and knowledgeable. Free shuttle to Metro Plaza and MTR is a great benefit.
