Disliked: Restroom ceiling looked like it was caving in. Every corner in Restroom was rusty. Breakfast: coffee, toast, cheese Danish, sausage, & waffle batter that made the worst waffles. Lady at the front desk at night was nice. The man at daytime was a little dry

They don’t tell you about a 100 deposit and if you don’t have it you can’t stay and they steal your money

I am a solo traveler, 32 year old female, and i had my truck break down on me and it was an emergency situation that required me to stay overnight in austin instead of driving home to Waco, i walked to this motel from the car shop and was beat when i got there it was late i was stressed and didnt even have any luggage i literally didnt even undo the bedding i passed out on top of the made up bed, didnt use the shower or have any food in the room and definitely didn’t smoke any cigarettes in the room, i mention this because not only does this crack motel charge a $100 deposit but they will lie and scam you out of it in anyway they can. I paid the deposit in cash, i gave the man 2 $50 dollar bills it was late when i checked in but when i came back in the morning to check out it was the same man and at first when i said “Can i get my deposit back please” he said “it will be returned to your card in a few business days” and i said “i paid with cash, sir” He scoffed and laughed and said “you didn’t pay with cash ma’am” and i said “Are you serious i checked in like ten hours ago, if that, and handed you two $50 dollar bills” and then he suddenly remembered and didn’t apologize for the way he just treated me and insinuating that i was trying to get one over on him over $100? No apology he actually made an excuse for himself like all top notch customer service scammers do and said “It’s been a long night it’s all a blur” …that’s reassuring. He reached in the drawer to pull out my money and then it’s like he thought about the fact that i was right and he wanted to get me back or something he puts the cash back in the drawer and says “actually i’m gonna go check the room” he goes out of the lobby leaves me standing in there alone i see him walk up the stairs and then goes out of my view in the direction of the room i was in, who knows if he actually even went in there but he comes back about five minutes later saying that the room smells like smoke ……and i said “you’re literally joking right? The room is the exact way it was when i walked in it and i don’t even smoke cigarettes at all? “ side note i just vape nowadays but it was dead and charger got left in my truck at the repair shop so i literally didn’t even hit my fruity smelling vape while in that musty room with no air conditioning on upon entering the room it was upwards of 85 degrees when i walked in there … just hints at how cheap they are here, in my particular room the toilet paper dispenser was cut out of the wall and resting against it ….just an open hole in the bathroom wall, the vent in the bathroom didn’t work so even if i wanted to take a shower, with the room being over *** when i arrived and the humidity the shower would have produced probably would have caused me to fall out and then i probably wouldn’t have gotten my deposit back for falling out too hard and causing him to have to call the ambulance to help me recover, lol. They charge too much for the location, state of the room and the clientele they have are definitely dabbling in a bit of substance abuse or sales, saw some questionable women have multiple guests in just the time i was waiting to checkout …..not a family friendly place for sure u less you’re their family then you’ll have every guests $100 security deposit to live off of. i just hope they used the $100 they stole from me to fix the hole in the wall or maybe run the AC for five more minutes before shutting it off after each guest leaves and another arrives to a musty sauna. Save your time, money and peace of mind and book elsewhere, you’re welcome.
