Ekoton Cave Hotel

It's about a 5-minute walk from Göreme Square. There is an uphill stretch so it can be a bit tiring if you have a suitcase, but there are no stairs so it's manageable. The hotel manager is very friendly. Had a great experience staying in this cave-like hotel!

Very friendly staff and owner. Lovely big room. Very clean. Very good breakfast spread. A little maintenance is required. But they now have that in hand. All in all a great plqce to stay in Goreme.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The room had two beds. The iron beds creaked and made noise in the middle of the night. The bathroom drained slowly. The receptionist was usually absent; I had to call WhatsApp when needed. The receptionist wasn't very friendly, but it wasn't a big deal. This hotel is at the top of a hill in the alley, so every time I went out to eat or go sightseeing, walking up the steep hill to get back to my room was quite tiring. Breakfast is OK. The Cook/cleaner woman is the only helpful and friendly person to me in this hotel, though she didn't speak English. We used Google translate app to communicate. This hotel is 5 minutes away from the bus stop and shops, which is the good point for it's location.

I can only give this hotel three stars because it's located on a mountain. To get there, you have to carry your luggage all the way up. Also, I don't know why, but the power went out on the night we stayed. We both woke up freezing at around 3 or 4 in the morning. Furthermore, when we checked out the next day, we asked the front desk to help us with our luggage, but they refused and even questioned "why" we would even ask.

The cost-performance ratio is very high, includes breakfast, and the room is very spacious. It's just that it would be better if the facilities were improved (like having a trash can in the living room, etc.).
