Liked: The location of the property is great, it’s right next to main road. There’s a really nice supermarket right in front

Disliked: The room was very moist, things always felt damp (the sheets, the towels etc). We never got hot water in the mornings, only in the afternoon.

My wife and I were in Ella for a couple days during our honeymoon. Our stay here was nothing less than accommodating and wonderful. The staff, services, location, and facilities were great and really made us comfortable. The owner himself, was a very kind, accommodating and welcoming. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Liked: Ella Inn is a guest house which has a hotel-like services. Upon arrival the hotel staff welcomed was warmly and facilitated check-in. The rooms were spacious and had some basic amenities. The temperature in Ella is usually on the cooler side, so there was no AC in the room. Toilets were somewhat clean and they have hot water facilities. The best part of the property is its location. Just 2 mins walk from the main city. The railway station is also very near. There is a superstore (food city) just in the opposite and lots of restaurants nearby which makes it really convenient for the guests. The breakfast was decent and tasty and served fresh and hot. The concierge Mr. Michael was also helpful and humble person. He assisted was during check out.

Disliked: During night no staff was available and there was no emergency call or telephone in the room. So, we felt left out as a guest and did not feel secured. If you need something or have some emergency there will be none to help you out.

Basic facility with friendly and helpful staff in good location in Ella. Main street with all cafes and restaurants is around the corner and Ella trainstation is also within walking distance. Cleanliness, especially the floor in breakfast area, left a lot to be desired. Building activities were ongoing nearby but all in all, fair value for money.

Without a doubt, this was the worst hotel of our entire 12-day Sri Lanka trip. The room description is highly misleading. Although the listing states that the rooms are 19 square metres, they feel far smaller. There was barely enough space to move around, and the beds were even smaller than a standard queen size, making them uncomfortable for two adults. The overall condition of the room was equally disappointing. The towels were old, stained, and had an unpleasant smell. There was virtually no ventilation, making the room feel stuffy, and the bathroom washbasin was missing its drain cover. When we pointed this out to the staff, the initial response was simply that there was no cover. Only after insisting that this was unacceptable did they provide a temporary makeshift solution, which was neither secure nor functional. The breakfast was average at best and certainly nothing memorable. One of the biggest issues was the complete lack of staff during the night. Guests are essentially left on their own with no one available to address concerns. During our stay, a large group occupied the common areas late into the night, talking loudly and making excessive noise. Despite travelling with our five-month-old baby, there was no one from the hotel available to intervene, and it became extremely difficult to get our baby to sleep. To make matters worse, the following morning the bathroom was filled with flies and mosquitoes, which was both unhygienic and unpleasant. Overall, this hotel failed on the most basic aspects of hospitality—cleanliness, maintenance, comfort, and guest service. There are far better options in Ella, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
