Evergreen Resort Hotel Jiaosi

Liked: While it is not the newest hotel, it is well maintained. Our kids had a great time. Kids room have daily free activities

The hotel feels a little dated, and I was not particularly impressed with the facilities in the room. Some of the furnishings and amenities could use an update, especially considering the overall standard and price of the hotel. The room was adequate for a short stay, but overall, it did not quite meet my expectations in term of the price. But the gaming room and pool and spa are good. The breakfast had a good variety of options, but some of the hot food was not warm enough. I also felt that the selection was more geared towards lunch or dinner rather than a typical breakfast, so there could be more breakfast-specific choices

Liked: We liked the ease of checking in at midnight and the breakfast buffet was really good.

Disliked: The hotel has not done any updates since our last stay that was more than 10+ years ago so the facilities were pretty old and a few of hotel staff were not very friendly with my family members. My family and I were pretty disappointed by the establishment and the staff esp with how much they charged us. We won't be going back there for sure in the future.

My extended family visited Evergreen together recently. It was definitely pricey. My room was a three person tatami room. It was beautifully appointed and the bathing area had a lovely view. We could see turtle island out the left side. The bathing area was a delight; so nice to soak in private with automatic shades. The resort offers many activities for children and adults. We partook of the baking class, signed up for the evening yoga but couldn’t make it, played video games and enjoyed the snack bar in the afternoon and after dinner. The hot spring areas are a little worn but still fun. The sauna and steam room with cold plunge were beautiful and relaxing. The outdoor pool was a little crowded but nice after it started to rain and practically everyone else went inside. The staff are very polite and helpful. However I found the food to be rather lacking. Everything *looked* artfully prepared but did not necessarily taste wonderful. This was especially the case at dinner. There was a lot of variety but it didn’t taste all that good. I usually love sushi but in this instance it didn’t taste that fresh and I didn’t go back for seconds. There were an unusual number of duck dishes which were not tasty and the selection was really strangely heavy on Korean cuisine. The breakfast buffet was better. There was a large selection of cuisines and coffee was available to go even. I think staying here is nice to try at least once but I doubt I’ll return. Unless my mom wants to do it again!!

Nice Onsen in-room, tatami bedroom. Great common onsen with cold pool on top floor.

Disliked: The bed in the Japanese room is too small. The stair, which is in front of the toilet, beside the TV is dangerous.

Even before checking into the hotel, the experience is poor as I keep getting messages from the hotel asking me the same questions over and over again. I ended up answering the same questions multiple times. The hotel did send me a message before checking in inviting me to use their lounge 鳳凰壹號。But when I got to the check in desk, they told me that I can't use the lounge as they didn't invite me and it's by invitation only. I showed the staff the message I got and they denied sending me the message. They said it was probably sent to me by the automated Agoda system. In the end they did let us use the lounge. Obviously, this hotel does not value us as guests as everyone around us who were checking were all invite to the lounge.

Liked: Location was very close to the bus station which made it very convenient. The in room onsen bath was perfect. The bathroom was very spacious. We loved the big bed and the sitting area by the window bay. The rooftop outdoor onsen was very relaxing and calm. Yoga was fun.

Disliked: Room was a bit dusty at the door. Wished there was a more convenient water refill station
