Fairmont Royal York

Excellent stay at Fairmont Royal York! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I would definitely stay here again!

Liked: the comfy bed and pool.spa and bathtub

Disliked: The music being broadcast throughout the lobby was way to intense party for check-in time. They need to tone it down at least. Hard to converse with host at check-in because of the volume and wrong type of music to be playing at the time.

We had a lovely stay at the Fairmont Royal York! The staff were wonderful everyone was so friendly and always had a smile on their face. The room was comfortable, although the bathroom could have been a little cleaner, as we noticed some dark spots that looked like mold. The restaurants were beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere and elegant decor. We personally preferred dining in the lounge and bar areas. We did notice a few tiny fruit flies around, and the prices were quite high (especially $8 for a pot of hot water), but that's somewhat expected at a hotel like this. We also enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi. Overall, it was a great experience, especially at the discounted rate we booked. The amazing staff really made our stay special, and we'd happily come back!

Fairmont was once known as a quality brand and the Royal York a respectable hotel. My experience was the opposite. I was there for a short stay of approx 14 hours. and used the hotel only for sleep. It started with a disorganized check-in, aggravated by poorly a conceived automated elevator access system. I was awoken at midnight by people shouting in the hotel corridors. This was intermittent until 3 AM. Too many drunks. My takeaway was that the Royal York wasn't much separating it from a lower tier hotel. The hotel was once a grand hotel, but it isn't anymore. This isn't a place for a peaceful night's sleep, nor a luxury experience. The room was clean, the mattress fine, but it really was no different than a generic basic hotel.

The hotel is very luxury, and strategic location in downtown Toronto. You can save money for travel to and from Pearsom Airport ans it is veey close to train statiom.

The location right next to Union Station meant I couldn’t help but be satisfied — it was the perfect spot for travelers. I could easily walk to places across Downtown Toronto like St. Lawrence Market, City Hall, and the Eaton Centre. The staff were friendly, and the ballroom and bar on the first floor had a very luxurious atmosphere. The service lived up to the reputation of Canada’s top hotel. However, because I booked at the cheapest time through Agoda, I was assigned a connecting room on the 3rd floor with no real view. An upgrade wasn’t possible. The room felt a bit dated and the TV wasn’t a smart TV, which was slightly inconvenient, though I was able to use Google Cast. Overall, I felt I was given a room that matched the low price I paid, but otherwise it was a very satisfactory hotel.

Disliked: Was given a room that was smaller than the one we paid for. First room we couldn’t stay in as it smelled too much like smoke.
