“Older hotel with great room size”
The property shows its age and isn't the most modern, but the rooms are far more spacious than newer hotels. Breakfast was fair and satisfying enough to start the day. Good value if room size matters to you. Nimman Market and Maya Shopping Center are both within easy walking distance. It is also effortless to book a Grab whenever you want to roam around the city, plus there is a handy local convenience store right opposite the hotel.

“We booked a long time in advance”
We got a great price because we booked a long time in advance. It's an old hotel but it's nice and big. I just didn't sleep well there, I have no idea why. We'd stay again though.

“Oldschool but great value”
The hotel looks like it was built in the 90s and not upgraded since. That gives it an authentic charm, the rooms are unusually large for today's standard, and the location is fantastic. Will repeat on our future stays in Chiang Mai!

“Above average”
It is not the first time we've stay in Furuma. The last time we noticed that the hotel really needs a serious renovation. Though the price was indeed reasonable, the condition of the rooms, beds, sofa, cupboard and particularly the bathroom. The shower does not work! stains on the cubicle glass seem to be ages old! Bedroom ceiling has obvious marks of moisture seepage! I am being honest. No, I shall not recommend. If the management takes my comments seriously and renovates extensively, improve the maintenance (I think it is lacking badly), I shall come back once again even if you charge more.

“Impressed with the staff.”
The hotel is large with spacious and clean rooms, and the air conditioning is cool. The front desk staff, including the housekeeping and the security guard who helped with traffic, provided excellent service. It is an old hotel, but the interior is very clean with no complaints at all. The floors are clean; you hardly encounter any dust. The swimming pool on the 18th floor is also clean. Overall, I liked it very much and will definitely stay again.

“Comfortable”
Nice big room. Bring your own extension cord because there are no outlets near the bed. The WiFi is kind of annoying; you have to log back in every hour or so. Staff is nice.

“A Hotel that is Showing its Age”
It might have once been a nice hotel, but the Furama Chiang Mai has definitely seen its better days. While rooms are large, with a kitchenette (but no place to sit down and eat), they are poorly lit (if barely lit at all — our room had several burned out lights and at least three non-functioning light switches), a bed that was passable, and a work desk that was prehistoric with only one electrical outlet even near it in which to plug a laptop (and it mostly didn’t work and was erratic at best providing power). The bathroom sink faucet handles were both too tight and leaked, and the shower faucet handles were broken and need to be recalibrated. The AC had no automatic setting, so the fan had to be run all the time. The TV offerings were basically whatever the hotel did not have to pay for, with only two English-speaking channels (ABC TV News) and DW’s English-language channel. The fitness center was basic, but with several machines out of order, the men’s steam room was out of service, and the men’s sauna (which requires asking hotel staff to turn it on) was barely warmer than outside. Finally, the hotel restaurant, although supposedly open, was abandoned and unwelcoming for dinner when we tried to eat there, and we never saw another diner or and waitstaff there, except for the morning breakfast time. The physical condition of the hotel, its furniture and decor, and overall atmosphere and ambiance are quite dated, frayed, broken and generally depressing, and absolutely nothing seems like it has been updated since the hotel first opened in 2005. The only thing going for it is its location relatively near the Maya Mall. We would not stay there again.
