City Garden GRAND Hotel

I have stayed here many times. This time was mostly the same. Firefly restaurant on the roof remains excellent. Weekends you'd better make a reservation. Same slow elevators, but oh well. One shout out to the night desk manager (?) named Cat. I was pick-pocketed walking near the hotel. Cat was very helpful in encouraging me to call the police just in case there was CCTV footage. The police were accommodating. The point is that Cat was very supportive and its much appreciated.

We stayed at City Garden Grand as a group of 3. The staff were so amazing and incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and our room was spacious and located in a very central area of Makati. It might be suitable for others, depending on your type of travel and what you are looking for. However, this hotel was not for me. The hotel only had 2 elevators which was not ideal since it was so busy.. we waited a long time to go up and down from our room. At one point, we ended up just taking the stairs up to our 11th floor room because of how long it took. A majority of the guests we saw were foreigners, which wasn’t a negative.. but many of them were with what looked to be very young escorts, so it was somewhat off-putting. The hotel itself was clean, smelled great, and our room was nice. But the last night of our stay, the water coming from the bathtub was coming out a yellow-ish brown colour, so we were not able to take a shower at the end of a long day. Overall would rate the hotel 3/5. Again, depending on the type of stay you are looking for, it could be a good fit. But for my group who was there to explore Manila, go shopping, and not there to party - it was not for us.

Liked: location and the amenities

Disliked: staff, i left my phone at the lobby. Then I called the Line number at service desk no one answered afternoon around 4pm. luckily my phone recovered since it was hidden at sofa lobby.

Really a nice value hotel. Good location, great staff and great rooms.

Liked: Super friendly staff, very attentive. The room are spacious with nice beds and bathroom facilities. The rooftop bar is amazing. I would have given a “9”, but … there is the lift problem.

Disliked: The building featites 32 floors and three lifts of which only two seem to be working at any time. Waiting times are a real disadvantage. Who wants to miss a Grab because of 15 minutes wait time in front of the lift on the 25th floor … I hope they will somehow fix this issue.
