“Not recommended: friendly staff, but poor value and handling of issues”
Liked: The staff was friendly
Disliked: We stayed here and paid extra for a “river view room.” Unfortunately the window was blocked by scaffolding, which we were not told about beforehand. When we raised this with staff, we were told “you should have known that.” No apology or compensation was offered. The room was also extremely hot with no air conditioning available. The staff were friendly, but between the misleading room description, the response we got, and the heat, we can’t recommend this hotel. We’ve stayed at better hotels in Hamburg for less money.

“It never felt like a hotel, interaction between staff and guests seemed hampered by the odd layout,”
Liked: The breakfast room, on the 8th Floor it's an amazing view. I guess the main reason I chose it. It was a bold design decision to adapt the old building, sadly it ended up lacking.
Disliked: The room servicing was poor. Seems even after leaving a note to restock the hot drink beverage sachets, you end up with 6 powdered coffee sachets, no restock of tea bags, no replacement coffee creamer. Complimentary water bottle seal was broken. pointed out on note, never replaced. It never felt like a proper hotel, Bedrooms on flrs 2,3 &4 flrs5-7 Office Flrs. Flr 8 Reception, Restaurant and Bar. Plumbing has to be the worse issue. Paying 5* Prices for plumbing suited more to a cabin on a car ferry, vacuum suction toilets. shower and sink wastes gathered and pumped out. Made a wonderful symphony in the morning. Building exterior under maintenance covered in scaffolding on the lower hotel floors. Depressing dark corridors on hotel accommodation floors.

“Problematic - help expected”
Liked: Workers were very nice
Disliked: I had a problem with workers seeing as i woke up and was almost naked. No one warned there were constructions, i arrived late and couldnt see. I solicit a refund

“Great location and nice view! would have been perfect if is not bcs if the vacuum system at the bathroom.”
Liked: Great location, river view was amazing, room was nice and clean. When you open the window it’s not as loud as the other review says (they also provide air-plugs), I had a good sleep in summer despite no aircon, the breeze was nice.
Disliked: the vacuum system noise when flushing the toilet and using shower is indeed annoying. The toilet one is very loud, had to close my ears everytime i pressed the flush button. With the shower’s vacuum, it’s not that loud.

“Birthday Getaway”
