Golden Sea Hotel

Amenities: 2/10 The bathroom didn't drain so the floor was always wet, and toothbrushes/towels weren't prepared for guests so I had to go down and ask twice. - The hot/cold faucet was broken: set to hot but it would switch to cold intermittently. - The room had no soundproofing at all — I was on the 5th floor but could hear children laughing and playing in the lobby on the 1st floor, so I couldn't sleep. Cleanliness: 2/10 I stayed two nights but there was no offer of daily housekeeping; toilet paper ran out and I had to ask for more myself. - Breakfast wasn't prepared in the usual way, only steamed rice dumplings and instant noodles were available. - Overall a pretty poor experience and not cheap (I booked two nights for 2.3 million VND, which is expensive for May 1st). Location: 8/10: Close to the beach, a quick walk out.

The hotel in the Sun Plaza area is very convenient for getting to the beach and the outdoor bar. Service is quick and enthusiastic; they offer motorbike rental so my wife and I could zip around everywhere without spending on taxis. Will return if we travel to Hạ Long again.

The hotel location is in Sun village that is quite near the beach. Service is good in general

The room is beautiful and clean.

The humid weather is making it unpleasant, but we can't use the air conditioning to dehumidify, so it has a bit of a smell. It's cold, but there’s no hot water. The bed sheet has stains and there’s a 100k fee for washing the sheets.

This is one of the recently built European style Sun Plaza Hotels. The location is a bit inner side of the neighborhood but that’s okay I guess. The main issue with this hotel is, they don’t have an organized staff group. It looks like one family lives in the hotel and works as caretaker. So, you don’t get the hospitality of a professional hotel management. Also, amenities and beds are not as good as it looks like. We had to use a coffee stained quilt since they didn’t change it even after noticing. I would say, it is not a 3-star hotel at any category apart from the infrastructure.

The room is clean and located near the beach. Since I visited outside of the tourist season, there were fewer guests, so I got a nice room. If I return to Bai Chay, I will support it again!

Very nice hotel and I reccomend a stay here if you have plans to visit Ha long Bay or Ha long city. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the most amazing beach! A special shout out to Hui (Hughie) and his lovely partner/wife who looked after me well and went out of their way to help. Nothing was too much trouble! Thank you! Ken from the UK
