Grand Elysée is a truly beautiful hotel, and overall, I was very happy with my stay. I visited Hamburg for a conference. Although the Radisson Blu is directly connected to the convention center, I found it a bit too modern for my taste. I wanted to stay somewhere that reflected Hamburg's traditional charm, so I chose Grand Elysée instead, and I'm glad I did. Although the hotel isn't directly connected to the convention center, it's still just a short walk away, and the train station is also very close. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, clean, and pleasant. The room was very spacious, and the cleanliness was exceptional. I was particularly impressed with the housekeeping service. My room was thoroughly cleaned every single day, and I really appreciated the consistently high standards. However, I was somewhat disappointed with how my reservation was handled and the attitude of the reception staff. I didn't find them particularly friendly or professional, which was surprising for a five-star hotel. Throughout my stay in Hamburg, I was genuinely impressed by how friendly and welcoming people were at restaurants, pubs, and everywhere else I went. Unfortunately, I didn't experience that same level of hospitality at this hotel. That said, room quality and location matter more to me than the friendliness of the staff. Despite the disappointing reception service, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily choose Grand Elysée again if I return to Hamburg.

“Not worth it 5*”
Liked: The location was good. People were friendly.
Disliked: The hotel is old and rusty. Doesn't feel like 5* and definitely not worth 250euro per night. I had a few issues - parking automat not working, huge queue at reception that i needed to wait to pay my parking for, leading to me coming late for the conference. Amateurism. I even told them what happened and they told me to wait, so I waited.

“Premium location, attentive staff but small room.”
Liked: The location is premium. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Clean room.
