Grand Mercure Hanoi

The staff was great! Helped whenever needed.

It's not located in the old quarter but close enough to get around to main tourist attractions. The rooms are impeccable and restaurant is amazing.

Check in staff were rude and full of bad attitude. Only saving grace was the young men who completed my check out. Much nicer and seemed to actually have trained in hospitality.

Is it the second in the Accor group? Most five-star hotels have a lot of rooms and guests, but this one has just the right number, making the crowd density the lowest among the places I've been. It was also impressive that all the staff greeted us with smiles. The rooftop pool is stunning, but it's a pity I couldn't use it because it was cold.

Liked: The room was amazing, very nice looking and nice views to the city. Very comfortable and big beed. Nice roof top bar, with skyline view and a pool.

Liked: The breakfast location was good, easy to find and love the window view. The buffet was short on healthy options e.g. more variety of nuts, almond milk, gluten free bread.

Location is nice - just 15 minutes drive from Old Quarter. Drawback on this is the lack of amenities. No supermarkets nearby which made it a challenge. Lobby and pull up point all very nice too. Staff were good, from the concierge to housekeeping to receptionists. Room is spacious, bed is super comfortable and you can also choose pillow texture. There have a good firm option if that is your thing. However, to our dismay, the room we were assigned smelled very musky, like old carpets. They moved us to another room which was much better. Would have been nice to be compensated for our inconvenience.

Liked: Welcoming and good staff service

Disliked: Doesn’t have a bright light for the whole room and a full body mirror
