Hanoi Solis Hotel

The Solis is located 500m form the center of the historic quarter, and 200m from a lake which is great for an early morning walk. Despite the hustle and bustle of the area, the hotel was quiet, the small pool and bar on the roof were a welcome break, the staff were attentive. The hotel is a boutique hotel, so don't expect massive rooms, and there may be an occasional quirk, but if you like some character to your hotel this is the place.,

Liked: Everything, staff, amenities, pool,bar, location was phenomenal.

Disliked: I wish the gym was bigger

Liked: I had a great overall experience staying at Hanoi Solis Hotel! The location is very strategic, with many popular tourist attractions nearby, making it convenient to explore Hanoi. The service was excellent throughout my stay, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Special thanks to Mr. Quan from the front desk, who was especially helpful and attentive. His professionalism and willingness to assist really made my stay more pleasant. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi. I would happily stay here again on my next visit! 😊

Liked: The service was amazing. Never stayed in a better hotel. Especially the service was great. They even organized my transport to the airport, after I stayed in a different hotel for anther trip. That is more an exceptional and amazing. Thank you!

Liked: Good location, comfortable room and friendly staff

Disliked: The premium view is a view of the back of an old building. Nevertheless, I had to say that the lady at the counter was really nice and offered me a better room once I commented her about the view but I decided to stay in the room because it was for just one more night.

First, this hotel is nothing close to a five star, a solid three star perhaps. We have mold/mildew in the shower, a toilet that has backed up from next-door that has left us with smelly toilet of poop twice on our last day. Flushed it a few times trying to get rid of it, resulting picture after third flush. Kudos to the staff because when I finally decided to report it after the second time they had maintenance dealing with it immediately but seriously, this is just crazy. So the positives first. 1.The staff is wonderful. 2. Nice breakfast selection with a GREAT fruit offering 3. Cool water in the covered pool area was very refreshing BUT pool had only three loungers and four chairs so little sitting space 4. LOCATION! 5. Good bed with good linens 6. Excellent AC 6. Good TV selection, including Cinemax and HBO and about 20 channels with English so that’s a highlight for your English speaking guests. Okay, the many negatives of this hotel 1. We booked a hotel room with window, no view, but ended up with no window. Not a big deal, we told ourselves it was like an inside cabin on a cruise but they certainly did not honor what we purchased. 2. We thought we were booking a five star hotel, we usually stay at the *** which is indeed a five star hotel and we thought we’d try something different, big mistake. In no universe is this hotel even close to a five star starting with the bathroom, which has mold and mildew in the shower grout, is microscopic, so much so that my husband‘s knees were an inch from the tub so it led to us having to go sideways. Towels were nothing close to a five star hotel and plastic glasses, cheap plastic glasses at that, in the tiny bathroom. There are scuffs all over the walls in the hallway, the elevator, etc. and while I understand things get scuffed up with people’s luggage this is something a five star hotel would not allow to stand. Start touching up all of this minor stuff that makes the hotel look tacky. The grout job in the bathroom is as if a ten year old did it. Our room has a throw rug that curls up on one side and has managed to trip my husband up every night when he gets up to go to the bathroom, for what reason it hasn’t been leveled out is beyond us but it really is a bit dangerous. We also have a mini fridge that is at room temperature and unable to be adjusted so our purchased beers were enjoyed as if they were sitting outside. Well, actually it’s really hot out so not like being outside but they were definitely room temperature. Also, we had a total of three hangers plus the two robe hangers that we took the robes off so we could actually use the hangers. Five star? Nope. 3. They have something wrong between this room, which is *** and the room next to us because when they shower in the adjoining room, you can hear water hitting the wall the TV is mounted on. It sounds like static at first but there is nothing turned on and it’s just water apparently because we called down to the front desk immediately upon check-in they came up and went next-door and knocked on the door and found out that the guy was in the shower so why that’s happening is anyone’s guess but it happened every night for about five minutes. Hopefully they don’t have some kind of broken pipe that’s leaking water between the walls but we feel like we did our due diligence and reported it. So the sum of it was not anything close to a five star experience and nothing we would come back for. If someone’s looking for a three star experience and they get the three star price then go for it but unfortunately, we were going for a five star experience and we did NOT get a three star price so very disappointing and we simply can’t recommend this hotel and will be going back to the ***. This hotel has a lot to do to get themselves up to a four star let alone a five star hotel.

Excellent hotel with exceptional staff. Wonderful plentiful breakfast.Lots of variety of foods for every culture. Great gym and pool.
