Disliked: $200 deposit $435.76 fraudulent charge $145.76 fraudulent charge $210.76 fraudulent charge Holiday inn tied up almost a $1000 of my money in my checking account. I paid for the entire trip through booking.com using a credit card. I used my debit card (different card) at check in for the required $200 deposit that will be returned to you within days after check out if not used. First thing this morning I noticed multiple charges by Holiday Innn to my account. Holiday inn is now tying up my money and has ruined our trip! I wanted to use to shop on our last night here before flying home tomorrow! This trip is for my son’s 10th birthday and today we were suppose to go shopping to pick out his birthday gifts! I called the front desk from the hotel room and was placed on hold for a long period of time then transferred to reservations. I had to get dressed to go talk to someone face to face. Initially I was told this was a charge by booking.com which clearly it is not, because they do not have my debit card and I used a debit card to check into the hotel. The charges CLEARLY say holiday inn Chicago not booking.com! i was then told a night shift staff person put the charge on my card. I was clearly not happy and wanted further details it just didn’t make sense! I waited for a manager and was given the excuse night shift did it and they would credit it back. I was not happy with the explanation because it looked like fraud on my account. The manager claims holiday inn’s system didn’t recognize the taxes and fees had already been paid through booking.com therefore I incurred more charges. I’m still not happy with this explanation. If this was the true reason why wouldn’t this have been caught at check in? I was told a hold on the charges was removed and holiday inn would credit the charges back to my card. It will take the refund 7-10 business days. Holiday inn ruined my vacation, last day here!

My family was in town for the Chicago marathon to support my daughter. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to most sites. The staff are all very friendly, from the front desk to someone walking by you in the hall. Free breakfast was a perk but may not be part of every reservation bc we got vouchers. The only downside was the price. I know staying in center city is pricier but it is still a Holiday Inn and I paid ***/night… but, it was the marathon weekend and I wanted to be close.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! The location is fantastic—just steps from the Chicago Riverwalk and perfect for anyone who enjoys walking and exploring. Michigan Avenue is about a 20-minute walk away, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. I also loved the cozy, inviting open-concept lounge, dining, and reception area on the 15th floor. Breakfast was great, and the entire staff was warm, professional, and helpful. A special shout-out to Madison and Santiago for their exceptional service and hospitality. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Chicago!

Disliked: Hidden destination charge of $25/day felt scammy on top of the city taxes.

Their checkin is at 4 but the room wasnt even ready until 4:30. That too after many many many requests as we had children. They gave wrong room even after that. Very bad.
