“The interior and service are the best!!”
The exterior looks like an apartment building and was a bit confusing at first, but the location is excellent—very close to the station!! There was also some warm hospitality, and the bright, open-feeling room was great! I think the cost-performance is unbeatable, so I highly recommend it!!

“Great base for bamboo grove and relatively easy to get into Kyoto centre”
Liked: Fabulously comfortable and spacious. Easy access to bamboo forest etc. A little out of the way for Kyoto centre but it suited us very well.
Disliked: So comfortable. The beds are huge. The room layout is sensational. Very lovely stay.

“Private Vibe Like an Apartment in Arashiyama: Spacious, Modern, and Serene!”
Getting a quiet, functional place to stay after a full day exploring Kyoto is a must. Homm Stay Nagi Arashiyama Kyoto By Banyan Group offers the perfect balance between distinctive Japanese architectural design and modern practicality. Here are detailed notes from my stay: - Location & Ambience: Very strategic! It’s close to the station, making it much easier to get around with suitcases or shopping bags. The air around the property feels very cool, typical of the Arashiyama area. The atmosphere is so peaceful, almost magical, and far from the hustle and noise of a big city. - Building & Room Concept: The building concept is brilliant, designed like a private apartment. Imagine only 2 rooms per floor! This provides a very high level of privacy and extra quiet for guests. - Room Type & Amenities: The interior adopts a traditional Japanese style presented in a very modern way. The room is very spacious, a real luxury by Japanese accommodation standards. It has a comfortable 2-seater sofa for relaxing and a functional table. Extra plus? The room window offers a mountain silhouette view that’s very pleasing to the eye. - Sleep Comfort: The bed comes with an extra-thick comforter. As an outstanding plus, the hotel also provides very comfortable sleepwear! It truly guarantees a quality night’s rest. - Bathroom Layout: The room amenities are very complete with an efficient bathroom layout. The toilet is separate from the bathtub area, plus a wide washbasin counter. The feature I appreciated most is the drying area above the washbasin equipped with a heater. It’s very helpful for drying light laundry at night. - Public Facilities & Service: The staff and reception were very friendly and cooperative. Refillable drinking water is also available on each floor, so you don’t have to keep buying bottled water. - Price & Halal Note: At check-in there is an extra accommodation tax of 800 Yen. A special note for Muslim travelers: I intentionally booked Room Only (no breakfast). I did this for peace of mind because there’s no guarantee of halal ingredients in the meals, given the frequent use of mirin or other non-halal ingredients in local dishes. Local Guide Tips: - Accommodation Tax: Prepare extra cash upon arrival to pay the accommodation tax so check-in goes faster. - Use the Heater: Don’t hesitate to wash light sports clothes or scarves and hang them in the washbasin area. Turn on the heater and your clothes will be dry and warm by morning! Overall, this accommodation truly offers maximum comfort with intact privacy. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an aesthetic place to rest in the Arashiyama area!

“A spotless, peaceful base in the heart of Arashiyama, with warm hosts and a location that is hard to beat.”
Liked: Everything, honestly. The location in Arashiyama is the star: quiet in the early morning before the day trippers arrive, and a short walk to the bamboo grove and the Togetsukyo bridge. Coming back to somewhere this calm after a full day out was a real luxury. The room was spotless, comfortable and thoughtfully set up, with plenty of space to unpack properly for four nights rather than living out of a suitcase. Check in was smooth and friendly, and the hosts were genuinely helpful with local tips. Great transport links too, easy to reach the rest of Kyoto and straightforward onward to the station. Excellent value for what you get
Disliked: Nothing at all. Four nights and not a single complaint. If I had to invent something, it would be that I wish we had booked longer

“Exceptional stay”
Liked: This hotel was by far our best accommodation of our 10-day stay in Japan. It was clean, comfortable, the staff was excellent and very accommodating. After check out they held our bags for the day and that was really great since we spontaneously booked a river rafting tour just outside of Kyoto. The beds were like clouds and my wife really loved the espresso machine. The bathroom was also exceptional with a rain shower head. The location is awesome as well being so close to the train station, ISO sushi, and a Lawson as well as three amazing tourist attractions. The bamboo forest, the monkeys, and a temple shrine. This was tens across the board so don't hesitate to book it. We wanted to stay longer but it was booked out.
