“Horse & Jockey inn Matamata”

I will not be booking with Agoda ever again! I recommend Horse and Jockey though. Agoda took my money out two days before stay and sent the confirmation to H&J but didn’t pay them. So on arrival we were rushing around trying to get a hold of Agoda. They never explained what had happened and H&J were busy. Thanks Horse and Jockey for your awesome hospitality! Really appreciate yous! Agoda 👎👎👎👎

“Needs an Upgrade”

Staff were not overly friendly or inviting. Charging way too much for what is offered. The properties require a through clean, renovations and an upgrade on decore. More customer parking is required.

“Do not recommend”

Liked: If location is the only thing that is important to you, than this is the place. We checked in and immediately regretted our decision and ended up booking a lovely airbnb down the road that was clean. I didn't even want to sit on the bed at the horse and jockey.

“Loved the food,”

Liked: Food in the restaurant was great.. The beds were comfortable. It was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Not enough towels. Only one bath towel and nothing else. No hand towel, no face cloth, no bath mat.

“Do not stay here”

Liked: The pub was nice. The hotel was not nice.

Disliked: The extremely loud music going until 1am was too much to bear. Could not even hold a conversation in our room over the booming disco music. Booking.com should not be promoting this place. It is a complete rip off. The bathrooms were not clean and had no lock. The room had no place to put your things other than the floor.
