Liked: Our stay at Hostel Skippy was absolutely wonderful! The highlight of our experience was the hostess. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Her hospitality was exceptional, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had all the information we needed. She gave us excellent recommendations and practical advice about getting around. We were planning to take an early train and thought the train station was much closer than it actually was. Thankfully, she explained the real distance and suggested different transportation options, including taking a bus to save money or a taxi for greater convenience. Her advice was extremely valuable, and we truly appreciated the time and effort she took to help us. The accommodation itself was lovely, cozy, and full of charm, with a beautiful wooden cabin atmosphere. The location was also very convenient. Although it might seem slightly outside the very center, Český Krumlov is a small town, and everything is within easy walking distance. Everything was excellent, but what made this stay truly special was the kindness, professionalism, and genuine care of our wonderful hostess. She deserves special recognition!

Disliked: The only small detail that could be improved was the shower. The bathtub had a handheld shower, but there was no shower curtain, glass door, or any type of splash protection. This made showering a little uncomfortable because standing up would cause water to splash all over the bathroom. We had to shower while sitting or bending down to avoid getting everything wet. It was not a major inconvenience, but adding a simple shower curtain or some type of splash guard would make the bathroom much more practical and comfortable for guests. Apart from this minor detail, everything was absolutely wonderful!

Hostelskippy is not the cheapest in my trip but it was worth it! Skippy the host is friendly and enthusiastic. She genuinely cares about travelers and gives great recommendations. The room is comfortable with a great view to the river. You can also chill on the terrace or walk down to the river easily. The hostel is 17 mins from the bus station or 30 mins from the train station by walking (with stairs) so take note of that if you carry heavy bags.

Liked: Skippy is very friendly and gave us recommendations and a tour as soon as we got there. We really enjoyed that it wasn’t in the center of the tourist area but was a short walk away. The outside area is great and we really enjoyed chilling out there. The rooms itself was good and had very comfortable beds. I would 100% stay here again if I were to come back. This was one of my favorite hostels of my entire trip.

Disliked: The bathroom situation was a bit unfortunate with only one bathroom for the amount of people in the house. It was a small thing, just some people took a really long time in there and we needed to use the restroom quickly.

When I checked in, the owner explained the surrounding situation in English, which was helpful. - There is a supermarket nearby. → It was cheaper than in the city. However, when I visited again after 6 PM, it was closed. - There is a restaurant that locals go to. → It seems to be cash only. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Although it is a bit away from the center, it is quiet and nice.

Liked: It was a great stay! The owner was nice, they were ready to help us in case we get lost and they gave us great recommendations around the city. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and toilets are clean. We especially liked the terrace, it was a cold night but there were plenty of blankets so we could play chess outside, enjoying the sound of the river. Would choose this place again 100%

Disliked: All was great, nothing to complain about!

Liked: Pros: Skippy and the other proprieter are very friendly and solicitous. The hostel has a lovely terrace overlooking the water. There is a real personal touch because it is a small facility with a small number of rooms and guests. It is about a 10 minute walk from the town center. My room was very large.

Disliked: Cons: While HS is a reasonable walk from the city center, you need to climb either a very long set of steps or climb up a bit of a hill to reach the place. It is also somewhat hard to find--at lesat if you are me and are directionally-challenged. The bathroom: You need to sit or kneel in the bathtub in order to take a shower. Also, I was given only one very small towel. Finally, my room had a large step at its door that you need to navigate to get into or out of the room. My first night, I woke in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. My room and the hallway were dark and I forgot about the big step, so I fell and scratched up my arm and knee. It was a scary experience. The next night, I tried to leave a light on in my room to avoid this problem, but the lamps did not work.
