Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, absolutely shocking breakfast which needs avoiding as it’s really not worth the money.

Liked: Excellent location next to dam square and easy walks to other areas. The breakfast had a wide variety. The tram stops infront the hotel.

Disliked: Nothing

good location, clean rooms, very helpfull staff, i think with the location this hotel is good value for money

Liked: Staff were great, good breakfast with amazing omelette

Disliked: Room was very small and a bit dated

Liked: The location was perfect, and the staff was very friendly.

Disliked: The room cleanliness was an issue, had to change the rooms due to the room having so many flies inside, but there were still present in the new room. There was a wet/mouldy smell our whole floor. The bathroom was very worn down, and the appliances (shower especially) felt like haven’t been cleaned in months. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable and there was no other alternative to change.

Note that the hotel DOES NOT allow any visitor to the room after 10pm, even if it is just one person. Seems it might be a regulation for the city, which the website should be more transparent in showing The kettle in the room was full of disgusting brown solidified coffee, got it changed but very concerning how long it's been there They seemed to miss out leaving instructions for how to call the reception for any amenities. Apparently there is meant to be a sheet with the numbers, but that was not in the room and the staff couldnt find it either. Asked multiple staff (5-6) for the number to reach the reception instead and only the last person was able to give the correct answer on the last night At least the location is very close to the Central station, canal and red light district
