Hotel Du Vieux Marais

Liked: The concierge staff were incredibly helpful and lovely people.

Disliked: The toilet paper holder in the bathroom was broken:-(

Liked: The hotel was great for a European boutique style lodging. Front desk staff were very hospitable, offering to schedule a wake-up call and taxi for my departure day- always engaging in conversation. My daughter & I stayed in a room with twin beds that were very comfortable with clean linens. Room.was cleaned daily and towels replenished. Our room had the best air conditioning of any hotel I've stayed in throughout European travels. The elevator was nice to have as we were on the top floor. This is in a great location and walkable to Metro stops, restaurants, and other retailers. We never opted for breakfast, so I cannot make any comments regarding the offerings. All in all, I would stay here again. No frills but perfect for what we needed.

Disliked: While our room was clean, the shower was similar to other European hotels. No shower curtain and not even a half- wall at the tub/shower to prevent an over spray. Easy to contend with though. Just part of the experience.

Liked: The hotel’s name — Vieux Marais — is apt: almost everything about it feels old and dated. The location, however, is excellent, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning works well — a must during Paris summers.

Disliked: The rooms are small and spartan, with cracked paint, and are desperately in need of renovation. The reception desk also takes your room key every time you leave, which feels infantilizing. If you’re simply looking for a reasonably priced base from which to explore Paris, the hotel does the job. But if you want a hotel that gives you joy, there are other, more stylish options in the area.

Liked: Wonderful location and very pleasant staff.

Disliked: Rooms are a bit small, but that's to be expected in the Marais.

Situation de l'hôtel au coeur du marais et facile d' accès en métro.Personnel très gentil.Nous avons pu laisser notre bagage.Chambre confortable au calme.Nous reviendrons.

Liked: Amazing location to city center and public transport. Room clean and breakfast amazing.

Liked: Friendly, helpful, attentive Front Desk staff particularly the gentleman that was there most days of our stays, whom I presumed was the manager

Disliked: While the rooms were clean, it was relatively Spartan. Ours was set up more like a dormitory room. There was a small safe, however, it was not attached to anything so theoretically someone could pick up the safe and walk away. Needless to say we did not use it. No shower curtain made it for a relatively messy bathroom after either of us showered. I have stayed in other hotels in the Marais which offered better facilities.
