Disliked: super loud as far as thin walls, people loud, can hear everything. Not very friendly atmosphere Foul nasty smells

I made a booking on Agoda. I had to stay in BA longer than expected for job interviews and quickly booked this place without checking the reviews before. I also didn't see until I reserved, that I had to pay the hotel directly, which you should avoid in Argentina, because of places like this. The receptionist, allready tried to overcharge me 20.000 ARS when checking in, claiming I registered as Argentinian, which would have made a price difference. I didn't though and sat down to find evidence of that and allready tried to reach out to Agoda, who didn't help at all, just unhelpful AI info, no real customer service. While doing that, he tried to distract me from that, walking back and forth with lies and accusations on his Google translate app and talking dirt and making jokes about me to his colleague. I found proof that I indeed registered as German not Argentinian. Then he claimed I made another reservation in booking. com, which also was a lie and I showed him in my booking app, that I didn't book anything at all there. He then urged me to cancel my reservation in Agoda, which of course would have cost me money. He eventually gave in and gave me a sort of correct price (still roughly 8€ more than shown before in Agoda),but afterwards seemed spiteful with me, because I didn't let him scam me. I paid the total for 7 nights by credit card and finally moved in. Later that day I got a mail from agoda stating the hotel couldn't verify my credit card and that if I didn't give them another one my stay would be automatically canceled. The link didn't work and the full transaction indeed allready was accepted by my credit card company anyways. The next day the receptionist waited for me to leave the hotel and then canceled my entire stay on the Agoda platform without any reason even though I paid everything in advance already, no one from agoda contacted me about this either. When I got the automatic mail about this by agoda, I directly went to the police and later ended up at Defensoria del Pueblo, who helped me greatly. A lawyer called them and wrote to me on WhatsApp helping me out and at least secured my stay. I would have liked to switch places as it is nasty and dirty anyways, but believe I wouldn't have gotten any money back that way. Didn't dare to go back to the hotel before seeking support, because I was afraid of my security and the security of my luggage there, also they canceled after check out time for that day, so even if I had gotten my things and left directly, they probably would have claimed I am too late for check out. Imagine I wouldn't have gotten any money back anyways. The young receptionist at night and the bald headed receptionist were nice and respectful with me, no reason to blame them.

Liked: Great location near the subway, restaurants and near Plaza de Mayo by walk. Comfy big room with AC and big bathroom! Free water downstairs

Liked: location was nice, close to many attractions and the bus terminal to the airport.

Disliked: - not many restaurants around, but there's few convenience stores few steps to the hotel. - felt a little bit sketchy at night, but area is safe in general.

Liked: Great location, friendly staff, nice clean and secured. Don't have to carry your keys to the room, you hand it to the staff before you leave. Security buzz in, great big bed, private bathroom. Open window.

Disliked: No kitchen to cook stuff
