Hotel Emma at Pearl on the Riverwalk

Liked: What was luxurious was the Pearl's aluminum water bottle, I indulged in drinking from it every day because we don’t drink alcohol. We got cited for taking this aluminum water bottle from the library. I also love the lavender body wash and lotion. I love how we were given a short history of the hotel when we checked in. It took me 3 days to appreciate the place. The longer I stay, it grows on me and feels a lot more 5-star esp during weekends.

Disliked: Someone went into our room even with DND sign to deliver 6 glasses of bottled water for no reason. There are only 2 of us, and we still have 2 glass bottles in there. Someone wants to call us out for taking PEARLS aluminum water bottles instead of drinking the water in glass bottle. We were humiliated and, at the same time felt unsafe that DND was broken. It’s hard to sit on springy old upholstered chairs in the lobby and at Sternewirth bar. Toilet sit so cold with poor ventilation. The hotel was supposed to have Engineering check who went into the room when a sign was placed as Do Not Disturb. Someone had placed 6 unwanted glass bottles of water for unknown intentions. It’s distressing to think someone went into our room, and the hotel didn’t get back to us about their findings. We stayed here because my son graduated from the nearby Army base. We dined at Mesquite, Ladino, Best Quality Daughter, Butcher House, and Lorianne. We shopped at many good restaurants close by, shop at Pullman Market. The hotel parking is not free, $45 a night.

Liked: Staff were excellent and helpful.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Staff was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. Petra the head concierge went out of her way to make my stay special. Michael the hotel car driver was also extremely kind and his service was great! the entire hotel is architecturally stunning. Location in the pearl district was perfect!

Disliked: Personally, although the available coffee-on-request service was interesting, I would really have liked a coffee service in room (or even a hot kettle with coffee/tea options) for those late night or very early morning "needs".

Disliked: They put me in a room next to a World Cup watching party that went late with loud music. The risotto was awful--tasted like stomach acid. The bottled water did not taste good. When I checked out I have never NOT been asked "how was your stay"?

Liked: Everything. Spacious, friendly, helpful staff and very clean.

Disliked: There is nothing I did not like

Liked: Oh my! This was my first stay at a 5-Star hotel and it lived up to a 5-Star rating! Every interaction with staff went beyond their typical duties. If I mentioned something during an interaction with staff, they went and provided more special customizations. Lovely! The room was unique, clean and quiet. The food and drinks good. The Library Bar a special treat. I'm glad I treated myself to a one night stay!
