Hotel Il Nido Sorrento

Liked: It was a lovely location and a lovely place. I will say it is like a beautiful young woman who has aged. You can see the beauty, but she could do with a little touch-up. The breakfast was great and the balcony wonderful. I loved the location high up that gave a great view. The staff was really nice. The room was comfortable.

Disliked: I had no problem with it but you are bound to a shuttle which may not be to some ppl's liking. The bad thing about that is that it stops from about 12 to 3. It does start early and ends late. The shuttle is about a 5 to 10 minute walk with luggage from the train station. Once you get the hang of it, you can work with its schedule.

Liked: View from my room was excellent: You can see Naples in the distance, mount Vesuvius and other towns spreaded along the coastline. Breakfast included great variety of choices. I liked it. Shuttle service was fantastic!

The room was a bit smaller than I expected from the pictures. However, it was clean, and in the case of extended stays, they refill a bottle of water the next day. The accommodation is located on the mountain side, so the view is really nice. There is a shuttle bus shared with several hotels that runs every hour, and there is also a city bus stop right next to the accommodation, so it's more convenient than I thought. However, if you prioritize mobility like I do, I wouldn't recommend accommodations in this area. Also, it would be helpful if basic information was provided at check-in in advance. There was a small guide regarding towel exchange in the bathroom, but it was too high for me to see clearly from my viewpoint.

Liked: I honestly loved everything about this hotel but the highlight was definitely the food, not only the breakfast was very good but the food in general was delicious!

Liked: Perched on the hills of Sorrento, the hotel boasts gorgeous views of the Gulf of Naples. What truly sets it apart, however, is the dedicated staff and their commitment to making guests feel comfortable. If you visit, be sure to say hello to Dino, the property manager, who treated us like family. The hotel offers convenient amenities, including a reliable shuttle service to Sorrento that runs hourly. Additionally, there is an on-site restaurant serving both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast features a wide array of options, such as fruit, juices, eggs, and pastries, while the dinner menu is delicious and offers plenty of variety.

Liked: Staff was very helpful and friendly! Breakfast was delicious and dinner at the restaurant on property was good too. Views from the balcony were beautiful.

Disliked: The beds were a little hard to sleep on. I knew we were further out from the city square but being so far out was a little complicated sometimes.

Liked: We just spent 5 nights here while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect including the room, views, location and shuttle option into Sorrento. Breakfast was probably best we have ever had in all our travels abroad and we came back to the hotel 4 out of 5 nights to eat dinner on the balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples with Vesuvius in the background. The food was fantastic, the big Moretti’s were ice cold and the ambiance was unmatched. My wife still wishes we were back at “our” table. Well done Gianni. Thanks for everything.

Liked: Proprietor and staff are responsive and welcoming. Panoramic views for miles and miles.

Disliked: No complaints.
