Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts Point By IHG

Liked: Great hotel, really cool rooms and decor and it’s right in the middle of a cool neighbourhood with loads going on and loads of cool cafes and stuff. Only takes about half an hour to walk down through the botanic gardens to the opera house and harbour. Totally worth getting the Harbour View rooms if you are visiting Sydney for the first time, was class waking up to see it every morning.

This stay was disappointing. After checking in I found the room windows were clearly not properly cleaned, and the cleanliness of the coffee machine, kettle, and cups was also unsatisfactory—these are basic hygiene details for a hotel. Service-wise, staff felt rather cold at first, and many issues only got addressed after I raised them proactively. Compared with other hotels I've stayed at that proactively check in and quickly assist guests, this stay showed a noticeable gap. The hotel is capable of doing better, but based on this experience the housekeeping cleanliness, staff initiative, and overall attention to detail all need improvement.

Only good point is the location is good. Otherwise room design is not optimal, breakfast choice is very limited. Housekeeping staffs were always behind the schedule and disturbing guests.

Disliked: Limited in room dining options and no cutlery or crockery (although its possible these could have been brought if specifically requested)
