Hotel Monastero Sant'Andrea

Liked: Excellent parking, the view you cannot beat. We enjoyed our breakfast, top floor appetizers, dinners, their little chapel and easy walk to the Basilica. Do not use Google or navigation. We got into the blocked streets. Waze helped us more. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had more.

Disliked: Coffee machine at breakfast was just ok

Liked: I stayed at this hotel twice within 10 days. First on my own for three days, and then with my husband for another three days. We had a wonderful experience on both occasions. The location is exceptional, particularly for those wishing to be close to the Basilica, and both of our rooms offered beautiful views of it. Housed in a former monastery, the hotel has a simple, understated style that beautifully preserves the character and atmosphere of the original building. We especially enjoyed the charming church within the property. Breakfast was simple yet enjoyable. What truly made our stays special, however, was the exceptional hospitality. The front desk and breakfast staff were consistently warm, professional, and helpful, always happy to offer advice or assistance. Special thanks to Gian Luca, Naomi, Priscilla, Annabel, and Giovanni for making us feel so welcome. A lovely stay in a beautiful setting. We will certainly return and would highly recommend this hotel.

Disliked: The only things that disappointed us were the cleanliness and the breakfast hours. We noticed that the bathrooms did not appear to have been properly cleaned, and the floors in the rooms were quite dusty. This was unfortunate, as cleanliness and hygiene are very important to us. We would also suggest extending the breakfast hours, as it currently ends quite early, around 9:30 a.m. A later breakfast service would make the overall experience even more enjoyable.

Liked: The location of this hotel is amazing, the photos are accurate - right outside the hotel is the stunning St Francis Cathedral. You wouldn't want to wheel your bag to this location as the streets are quite winding and steep. You may need a taxi to get there. The room was very comfortable and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommended!

Liked: If you want to be close to Saint Francis & the Basilica this hotel is your place to be. It is directly across from Saint Francis’s Basilica and has many great viewing advantage points, not only from its terraces, but also from areas right around the hotel.. The rooms were a good size, they do have an elevator which sometimes is hard to find in older Italian buildings. And their staff was amazing, helpful and very friendly.

Disliked: Breakfast selections and choices could’ve been a little bit better.

Liked: Naomi at the front desk was so helpful and kind! The property is beautiful. Breakfast lovely

Liked: Loved every minute of our stay at this lovely hotel. Our windows looked out on the piazza of San Francesco. Staff were wonderful, dinner on the terrace was wonderful. Thank you!

Disliked: Very early check out with no flexibility, even to leave the car there in our paid parking at least until 11am (you can’t park in the town elsewhere as not allowed)
