Hotel Nice Excelsior Chateaux & Hotels Collection

Liked: Excellent location for the train station, which was the reason I chose this hotel!

Disliked: There wasn’t any downsides to the property.

Liked: ONLY LOCATION

Disliked: THE ROOMS ALLOTTED TO US WERE THEIR BEST BUT THE AC MADE SO MUCH NOISE AND THE LIGHTS FLICKERED AT NIGHT ON THEIR OWN LIKE HAUNTED MOVIE. WE COULDNT SLEEP AND ASKED THEM TO CHANGE OUR ROOM. THEY ASKED US TO PACK AND CHECK OUT AND WHEN THEIR ROOM WILL BE READY THEY WILL SHIFT US. IMAGINE WE HAD PAID FOR 4 NIGHTS AND WE DIDNT WANT TO KEEP OUR LUGGAGE LYING AT THEIR RECEPTION SO WE SAID THAT WE WOULD DO IT IN THE EVENING WHEN THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO STAFF TO CLEAN IN EVENING SO NOT POSSIBLE. WE CHECKED OUT AFTER OUR SECOND NIGHT AND THE MOMENT WE CHECKED OUT THEIR STAFF APPEARED TO CLEAR THE ROOM. SO THEY WERE OUTRIGHTLY LYING. VERY UNCOOPERATIVE AND GREEDY PEOPLE.THEY HAD NOT A SENSE OF REGRET WHEN WE CHECKED OUT MID WAY EVEN AFTER PAYING FOR FOUR.WILL NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

Liked: The property is nice, but the staff needs more training regarding the services and the way are addressing to the guests

Disliked: The attitude of the housekeeper

Liked: I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It is quiet (my room faced the courtyard), with a comfortable bed, a great shower, and everything was clean. The staff were lovely and welcoming. The location is excellent — just a 2-minute walk from the main train station and 15 minutes from the city centre and the seafront! Breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of variety for a two-night stay. A special thank you for the opportunity to try a selection of classic French cheeses!:)

Disliked: My sister made the booking on her credit card and I was informed prior the trip, that this card must be shown at arrival. I live few hours drive away from my sister in a different town and as you can imagine as it was her credit card which was used she also needed it for her personal use but as the hotel persisted it was stressful. The hotel advised the card must be seen or alternatively the money could be transferred back but only via completing a form and my sister will then have to make a payment; this was alot of hassle when hotel was pre-paid so why they wanted to see the card I have no idea. My sister decided to give me her card and was without her card for a week whilst I was in Nice as it was causing anxiety and some of the wording on the form they provided was in french which we cant read or speak. Frustrating thing, the hotel did not ask for the credit card once so both my sister and I are very disappointed that we went through inconvenience of emailing the hotel number of times prior arrival questioning the card, we also called booking.com number of times to resolve this issue but hotel was persistent but yet didnt ask for it whilst we were there. Also it was my fiance’s birthday and I did request if the hotel could do any special gestures in room, but they did not do anything.

Liked: Good location to the train although a little too far to Old town by foot.

Disliked: Beds were on the hard side. Room was small, should have checked the size. Fruit at breakfast looked old, no berries.

Liked: The friendly & helpful staff

Liked: Nice property and great location near the station. Friendly staff who gave lots of options for dinner etc. nice terrace area by the pool and outside for breakfast

Disliked: The rooms were a bit small, with not so much storage for two people - and quite some wasted space. We also got bitten a lot at night in the room (in beds?). Breakfast spread was standard continental.
