Hua Lin Inn

Liked: Reception was friendly giving us early check in free. Location is just 100 metres to many international food shops and the room was clean okay and comfortable. Its in city centre or very near to it. Ample parking space of you bring your car. Underrated! in my opinion. Will book next trip here.

Disliked: Lift to second floor stand in the next floor so you have to climb few steps. But that's okay if you can walk good.

Great people and everything included defo recommended and plenty of things to do nearby

For someone who isn’t particular, it’s fine. It just takes a little while to get into the city — the location requires a bit of time to reach the city center.

The room was covered in dust. They didn’t change the blankets and reused the same ones — when they put a dark-colored blanket over them, it was covered in stuck-on powder and smelled very musty. When I first arrived there were no towels; I had to call and ask. The staff said the laundry couldn’t deliver in time and that they’d borrow some from a nearby hotel. Really terrible.

The air conditioner broke; I told staff about it at 7 a.m. They said they would fix it and come back at 1 p.m., but nothing had been done. Then they said to wait for a technician at 3 p.m. The place felt like a hotel or a dormitory — the staff were very confused. I don’t recommend staying here. They didn’t take any action, so we had to check out and lose our money. Very bad. The staff’s only response was one word: “I don’t know.”

Spacious, has wifi, very clean. Friendly staff.

Liked: Good value for money, with large, clean rooms and a comfortable bed. Above expectations for backpackers.

If you’re not bothered by the smell of cigarette smoke, it’s excellent. I don’t like the smell of smoke at all, so it was a bit disappointing for me.
