Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown

Strategic location with good price for business travellers. Walking distance to Mitec where my event held. So convenient & the room is huge with a good view! Staffs are great! Was a pleasant 3 nights stay.

Staff barged into room without giving me ample time to answer door properly

Disliked: Beautiful Hotel, But Not Quite Luxury Yet Our stay at the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur was a bit of a mixed experience. First, the positives: the hotel itself is extremely beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Our suite was huge, spacious, and very well appointed, with everything you would expect from a high-end apartment. The design is impressive, and the location is also good — far enough removed from the main city to feel a little more relaxed, but still close enough to easily explore Kuala Lumpur. The staff were consistently pleasant, happy, and kind, which we really appreciated. However, while the hotel looks and feels luxurious in many respects, the service currently doesn’t quite match the expectations of a luxury hotel. We didn’t receive a single meal that didn’t have some sort of issue, and even ordering something as simple as a coffee in the main café seemed unnecessarily difficult. A basic gin and tonic also proved surprisingly difficult to get right. We attempted to order drinks from the lobby to our room, but unfortunately, they never arrived. Housekeeping was another issue. On two occasions our room wasn’t cleaned despite us specifically requesting it, and overall, many things simply seemed to take a very long time. We understand that the hotel is new, and at times it genuinely felt as though they were understaffed or still finding their rhythm. One example was the pool: at 7:30pm, we were unable to swim because the pool closed at 8pm and staff were reluctant to let us in. There is also a pool bar advertised, but during our stay there was no pool bar operating. There is a lot of potential here. In fact, the hotel itself is beautiful enough that it feels like it could eventually become a fantastic luxury property. However, there is currently a noticeable gap between the beautiful presentation and the level of service being delivered. Some of the images and marketing also appear to set an expectation that the actual experience doesn’t yet fully meet.

Hotel and facilities getting old.

I stayed here because there was an exhibition nearby. Since the hotel is brand new, it was very clean. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of dishes, so I didn’t get bored and enjoyed it every morning. Housekeeping sometimes didn’t replenish water, tissues, or towels. There are no shopping centers or convenience stores within walking distance, so Grab is essential.

Liked: Very modern style, clean, staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast fresh with lots of options.

Disliked: Way to city takes some time because of traffic.

The hotel just opened recently. The room was clean. Most of the staff are Malay Hindus. I didn’t like that they kept trying to upsell room upgrades. The front-facing view shows the Sultan’s Palace and the MIPEC exhibition center. The downside is that transportation isn’t very convenient — it’s quite far from the train station and it takes about an hour to get here from the international airport. There isn’t a convenience store nearby.

Great stay! The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. The host was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
