Janthara Resort and Restaurant

Not so good experience. Please carry ample food as nearest 711 is 7.5 kilometer and nothing much available in the resort Positives: view of river and peacdful location, Mountain. To be improved: Rooms need renovation. Example: in my room the lock was not working. Bathroom door stuck. Though housekeeping helped.. not much space for car parking. Bad: Rude staff. No cook available. No coffee/tea. Bad service overall. Bad checkin experience

Good mood, peaceful, and reasonably priced. Because the rooms are made of bamboo, there are a lot of geckos, so mosquito nets are necessary. The air conditioning isn't very cold — I stayed in April and the room was too warm during the daytime. Overall, though, it's good.

the staff were super duper friendly!!! helped us carry our cases up and down because we had to change our room to the lower floor because the stairs were really bad and i had recently dislocated my knee so it hurt my knee super badly to walk up them and the staff was sooo nice about it!!! geckos did come into our room and there were ants on the bathroom floor and frogs outside but honestly that's not surprising given the location:)

Nice, relaxing place to stay. The staff are friendly and provide good service. Every dish is delicious, and the bed is very comfortable.

Liked: The view from our room/hut was nice and because it was in the middle of the jungle, it was quiet.

Disliked: When we arrived and were showed our hut, we almost did not get any explanation about the working of the hotel. We went to the restaurant to have a drink, the waitress was really nice, but it felt really abandoned, we were the only people there. Also there wasn't much choice for food or drinks. The hut looks way smaller than on the pictures and felt neglected. The mosquito net had holes in several places, the sheets were old and also had holes in them. The bathroom was also old and not well maintained. The steps towards our hut were dangerous, cables running over them, leaves everywhere and they were crumbling at some spots. The swimming pool looked dirty, was much smaller than on the pictures and the slide was broken. There wasn't breakfast at the restaurant (it only opens at 11am) or any facilities to eat or even drink a coffee or a tea. There was supposed to be a nightguard, but we did not see him when we retired to our hut and had to put out the lights in the restaurant ourselves. The next morning around 8am there was still no one at the reception. We waited for 20 minutes before the nightguard - we think - showed up, he didn't really talk to us, but just took the keys and then disappeared again. Luckily we already booked our taxi ourselves. So overall, the hotel felt really neglected, everything was old and the pictures really don't match the reality at all.

Good room and reasonable price. Very peaceful, close to nature and the river, with water activities like kayaking. However, the location is far from the main road, there’s nothing nearby, and phone signal can be weak. The floating room also shakes a little. Good for relaxing, but not very convenient.
