Amazing place, kind and lovely people worth great and reasonable priced food, their tours are great and priced well too.

“money making machine”
Liked: Located in a beautiful area, overlooking the jungle. Consists of raised platforms with tents. A bit of a bohemian atmosphere.
Disliked: This could've been a great place to stay. Unfortunately, not the case. Khao Sok in general is a money making machine, and this place is the same. Food bland and more expensive than in the village, all trips and excursions more expensive, as well as have overheard other tourists complaining about the low quality. We booked transportation for departure in advance, only to be told the evening of our last day that we'd have to pay more, due to "insert_random_reason_here". We did not accept, went to the village and literally the first place we asked was cheaper than the initial offer we got. Last but not least, we arrived to find that our initial booking was ignored and out of 3 tents, one was changed to a smaller one. Ok, fine, let's say we'd accept that. However, all tents, especially this last one, had many many holes everywhere, so we had to spend an hour during our first day sewing holes to avoid mosquitos. The bathrooms are.. as you imagine. To top it off, to the edge of the property, the mountain of garbage thrown towards the jungle.

“We needed a one night stay, and it was nice hospitality, though not the most comfortable or the best nights sleep”
Liked: The staff/owner are incredibly accommodating and friendly kindhearted people. The food was also super tasty and it gives a nice family or friends camping environment. Not really many mosquitoes which was great!
Disliked: The location was so hard to get to from the center of the village, we had to ask three different taxi/transfers and finally got one who would take us. We had an issue with a super loud neighbor while trying to sleep - the tents are right next to eachother and you can hear a pin drop in the one next to you, however we had to deal with a loud talker through the night when we had to wake early the next day. Plus the tent was so hot at night, that we could hardly sleep, though they provide a small fan outside the tent. The air is very damp there so nothing really dries and your things will feel moist upon leaving. We had no room for our backpacks so we had to place our belongings outside the tent, which didn’t help with the ants. I really wanted to like this place, and I think if you’re looking for a super rustic basic accommodation it’s fine, but unfortunately we just did not have a comfortable experience. For reference we have camped before and stayed in all kinds of hostels.

“Beautiful remote area with lovely staff”
Had a great time at the Hilltop Resort with stunning views of nature and wildlife and a peaceful vibe about it. The staff were exceptional going above and beyond to help with booking tours to the national park, taxis, etc and the resort restaurants food was homemade and yummy. Only cons are that we struggled to get a taxi that would drive up to the resort as it’s at the top of the hill (many refused) would recommend maybe arranging something before arriving. And the bathrooms were very simple with insects in the toilet/drain and showers not being hot. However there was 2 additional toilets near the reception area which were much nicer.

Liked: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Peaceful Nature Stay I stayed in the tent and absolutely loved the relaxing nature vibes. It was very peaceful and refreshing. The food was great, and the owner and staff were very accommodating and friendly. This place is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy nature at a low cost while still feeling comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.

Liked: I felt in love whit this place. You get a large tent and during your stay you feel at home thank you people who manage there, also the you wake up to the sound of nature is amazing. I miss you mama ❤️

“Would 100% go back if I come to Khao sok again”
Liked: The staff was incredible! So helpful with tours, arranging transportation to next destination, and always in good mood. Can’t recommend this place and this service enough!
Disliked: The mattress was very thin, but it’s camping in a tent, it’s not supposed to be luxurious, so it was okay.
