“Pleasant”
Liked: Large room and balcony, the duvet
Disliked: Far from public transport. But they provide a minibus to a metro station every 20 minutes

“A well-established five-star hotel with great value for money.”
This is an emergency hotel after Jingo-ji Temple, but because I did my homework well, the pros and cons came as no surprise. Pros: The service is excellent — from the moment you enter, luggage storage, check-in, to the shuttle service and dining service, everything was very good. The room was also large and beautiful, and they even had postcards. Cons: The location is really inconvenient. Although there is a shuttle bus, getting around is still very inconvenient — the only convenient option is to take a taxi. If you don’t take a taxi and the shuttle isn’t running, the nearest bus stop is more than a ten-minute walk. The restaurant service was nice, but the portions were way too small — I really didn’t leave feeling full. That’s it!

“Perfect”
Liked: The Japanese style breakfast was excellent, delicious and elegant at the same time. Restaurant staff live up to the hotel's 5 start standard. The in room matcha kit was the star of our stay. At first I thought that it is only something of mediocre level to attract foreign tourists. But the quality far exceeded my expectation. High grade matcha from the renowned tea brand Tsujiri, the chasen (tea whisker) was one of the best quality I have ever used, easy to use and made fine foamy texture matcha.
Disliked: Everything was perfect

“It became the best trip.”
From the warm, attentive service of all the staff to the hotel's location, the food, and the immaculate cleanliness down to every corner of the room, everything was truly wonderful and made for an outstanding stay! The staff were always smiling and kind, and their thoughtful attentiveness made us very happy. The hotel was easy to get around and provided a lovely space where we felt comfortable wherever we were. The meals were all delicious and left us completely satisfied. The room was spotless and well-prepared down to the smallest detail, giving a strong sense of cleanliness and allowing us to relax very comfortably. The staff's hospitality, the hotel's atmosphere, the food, the cleanliness—everything was flawless, and we really felt, "I'm so glad we stayed here!" Thank you for a wonderful time. We definitely want to visit again!

“Memories of Kyoto”
I rented a car during my Kyoto trip and booked accommodation in a place that wasn’t crowded but was quiet... Everything was satisfactory, and I recommend it if you really want to experience Japanese lodging and service. Especially try the Japanese breakfast during breakfast...

“Long-established last chance”
Family trip for four adults The location is a bit far from Kyoto Station, but it’s a good base for getting around Central Kyoto. The food was excellent and the hospitality was very good. The only disappointing point was a billing error at the lounge; when I pointed it out there was no apology at all. The behavior of that one staff member brought down my overall impression of the service — otherwise I would have given a perfect score. It seems the hotel will be renovated when it joins the Hilton group in November 2026. This was the last stay at the long-established Brighton.

“Very good”
Disliked: Really annoying that they charge breakfast for my 5 yo kid to have western breakfast, even if you booked with breakfast included. They claim that the Japanese breakfast is free for the five year-old. But it is just white rice and miso soup. Your kid will have to eat from your plate.
