Kyoto Plaza Hotel Kintetsu Jujo

Liked: The cleanliness, the buffet breakfast, the staff who are very professional, the clean bathrooms in the room and in the lobby, complimentary coffee all day and free ice cream bars from 3PM to 1AM. These are the things I like about the property.

Disliked: There was no phone in the room.

I was impressed by the staff's excellent response, the cleanliness of the rooms, and that the large public bath was not cramped. However, there were two groups of students staying at the hotel, which made it very noisy. They were talking loudly and having fun in the hallways, so we couldn't relax. Additionally, when we used the large public bath, all the showers were monopolized by the students, leaving us and other general guests, including children, to wait in the cold for our turn. Finally, when the students left, we could finally enjoy the bath. However, when we went to the changing area after bathing, the supplies like lotion were soaked and sticky, the lockers were left open, towels used by the students were scattered around, and there was trash like hair ties and band-aids on the floor. It left me feeling very uncomfortable. Of course, the school and the students are at fault, but I would have appreciated if the hotel had let us know that there were groups of students staying or that at certain times, the large public bath would be utilized by these groups.

Disliked: The beds are hard as rocks, genuinely my worst nights sleep in Japan, I think capsule hotels might be more comfortable.

Liked: Nice room, free icecream was great.

Due to road conditions, I was unable to arrive at the requested time and had a late check-in. When I contacted them along the way, their response was very pleasant. The parking lot was well-equipped, and although we were unfamiliar with the area, the guidance regarding full parking and nearby coin-operated parking was very helpful with the provided map and clear explanations. Thank you for your assistance late at night. The plan included breakfast. The menu exceeded our expectations in terms of value. We appreciate the help we received.

Liked: Nice breakfast, free popsicles, excellent onsen and very helpful staff.

Disliked: The bed was extremely hard.

The location is inconvenient; it’s a distance from both the nearby Kintetsu Jujo Station and can't be walked from Kyoto Station. The interior is very clean, and having a welcome drink and ice cream is the best part. It would be great if there was a shuttle bus from Kyoto Station. As for the bedding, the mattress sheet is placed under the comforter, so it comes off easily, which is a concern for cleanliness.

There were many services such as welcome drinks and ice cream after the bath, which made the children very happy. A minor but disappointing point was that I thought the loungewear would be the same, but there were various sizes kept in the same storage area. I think it would be easier to choose if the size labels were stored in a clear and understandable manner.
