Loft17 Resort

Beautiful boutique hotel with a unique industrial minimalist design and lots of thoughtful details. The rooms were spotless, the mountain views were incredible, and the traditional soaking tub by the window was the highlight of our stay. A special thank you to Sherry for helping us arrange taxis and for her excellent recommendations on what to do nearby. Loft17 is perfect for a relaxing weekend or as a base for exploring Shiding, Pinglin, and Jiufen. We’d definitely stay again.

1. Cold water caused a power trip and no water — after reporting it, they handled it quickly. 2. The room has no TV or fridge; you have to go to the common lounge to watch TV. The lounge has a refrigerator and is a nice place to make tea and chat. 3. The view outside the room is wonderful. 4. The bathtub fills quickly with lots of water; the spring water feels very pleasant for soaking. 5. The pebble drain outside the bathtub seems clogged and could hide bugs. Good mountain accommodations are hard to find, and overall the stay was comfortable 🥰

Liked: Fantastische Lage auf dem Berg mit weitem Blick, sowohl von der Dachterrasse als auch vom eigenen Balkon, unter dem im Frühjahr Glühwürmchen funkeln. Gutes Essen, interessante Kunstausstellungen.

Disliked: Anfahrt nur mit eigenem Auto oder Taxi möglich.

Liked: They really accommodated us and our particular situation. I was travelling with a child. It was noce to be served breakfast. They helped us with all of our logistics. I was even able to be in a quiet place where I could have a videoconference in the middle of the night for work. The onsen in the room + the view were amazing. The room itself is spacious and beautiful. They treated us like honoured guests

Liked: This loft hotel is a little off the beaten path but offers a small restaurant and a rotating art exhibit hall. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you want a peaceful stay with lots of art and beautiful mountain views while soaking in a hot tub, this is the place.

Disliked: You need a car to get around as the loft is not walking distance to the town. The staff were very helpful and gave me rides when I needed to go shopping. Uber does work here but the wait times might be a bit long due to its location. The rooms are concrete and a bit brutalist, but each one had a large hot tub to soak.

The environment is great and very suitable for dogs to stay. There are two large dogs at the entrance that bark when dogs walk by, so be careful.

We searched a long time for a pet-friendly place to bring our dog, and finally found Loft17 with its spacious grounds! Upon check-in, the owner personally showed us the room and the facilities. After breakfast they came to check whether we had eaten enough and if we needed anything else — very kind and thoughtful. The staff at Loft17 were all talkative and friendly. Pros: • The most pet-friendly place we've stayed at so far! • The room has a private soaking tub with strong water flow so it fills quickly • Hot water comes quickly, no long waits • Rooms are very spacious, even large dogs don’t feel cramped • There's a balcony with beautiful views of trees or mountains • Both heating and air conditioning available • Breakfast is tasty • The common lounge has a fridge, water dispenser, and microwave • They regularly host different art exhibitions to enjoy Suggestions for improvement: • There are three very friendly mixed-breed dogs on the Loft17 grounds, but when guests are present they’re kept in crates. I hope the property can be pet-friendly not only to guests’ pets but also create a small area where the resident dogs can move freely and have separate spaces for eating and toileting • The bed is like a thin mattress on the floor and is uncomfortably hard — it feels like sleeping on the floor. I suggest adding a latex topper or a thicker, softer mattress • Even with all the lights on the room is not very bright; the light above the soaking tub was broken and could not be turned on • Suggest adding a full‑length mirror in the room • There are no outlets near the headboard; the only outlets are on the wall behind the clothes rack, which is inconvenient
