Unfortunately, our experience at Malahini was disappointing and far below our expectations, especially considering the way the resort markets itself and the prices we paid. 1. Transfer cost One of the first disappointments was the transfer from the airport. The resort constantly advertises the speedboat transfer as an offer for only USD 50 per person. The island is also very close to Malé Airport — only around 12 minutes away. However, we were charged USD 100 per person, which is double the advertised promotional price. This was quite disappointing, especially since the transfer is very short. 2. Ocean View Room that had no ocean view We specifically booked an Ocean View Room, expecting to have at least a partial or clear view of the ocean. Instead, we were given a room where the entire view from the window is trees and the garden, with absolutely no ocean view, as clearly shown in the attached photo. For a resort in the Maldives, and especially for a room specifically booked and paid for as an Ocean View, this was simply not what we expected. Overall, the experience did not match the expectations created by the resort’s marketing, and the value for money was disappointing. There were several other issues during our stay that added to the disappointment. Unfortunately, Malahini was not the Maldives experience we were expecting.

The property is clean, well maintained and close to Male. The staff is attentive and shows great efforts to make your stay memorable. The speedboat transfer is at reasonable price and the pool, jacuzzi and beach/ocean view of the property we stayed, and full board option makes it excellent value for money and highly recommended.

There must be a certain amount of attention before booking, as not all information on the website is true. They say check-out is at 12pm, but they made us leave at 11am saying that there would only be a boat at 11:30am, my flight wasn't until the next day, I would sleep in Malé, and they made me leave before the time stated on the website. I also booked accommodation with a private pool in front of the beach. the room was good although simple, but it didn't have a beach, it had a view of the sea, but without a strip of sand, there was no access to the sea there. The all inclusive has a small drinks list, it does not include bottled water, sparkling water, natural juices or wines. The selection of drinks is very small, the alcoholic drinks available always have the same flavor as the artificial juice. The bar service is very bad, they take a long time to serve, we often had to leave the table to go find a server and even with all inclusive you can only drink in the bar area. The food in the restaurant was great, we paid for a barbecue on the beach and it was very good. The private pool was something we liked, although it needs maintenance, it has loose tiles. There is a minibar in the rooms, where everything must be paid separately even with all inclusive, but it doesn't cool. The bathroom is beautiful, but as it is open there are many ants that end up entering the room. There is no hairdryer, we missed the amenities that simpler hotels offer.

If you're looking for a budget holiday simply don't go to the Maldives, Vietnam, Thailand or even northern Sri Lanka may suit you better. The problem with the Maldives is that it has become so expensive that a holiday we took 20 years ago is now out of our reach financially, if you really do want to go and see the most fabulous blue water on the planet then there is nothing wrong with this resort, in fact it's very convenient for the airport 10 minutes in reality probably half an hour to motor over and then some sensibly priced all-inclusive packages. I'm not sure that the alcohol levels in the alcoholic beverages are quite what Europeans are used to, I should have been horizontally drunk and wasn't, one can draw one's own conclusions. What I recommend this place yes everything was very nice and in particular the food which was sublime. Thecatering staff absolutely excel
