We are a family of five checking in at night. The hotel claimed our room had broken facilities, but it was simply overbooking. They promised to transfer us to their branch with the same room type and standard. Instead, we dragged six large suitcases and walked 15 minutes on busy streets to an old, shabby private guesthouse, called New City View. It looked nothing like the property we booked. The room only had beds, no amenities and no hot water. I paid for this 4-star hotel but actually stayed in a poor guest house with totally no service. We felt seriously deceived. The hotel lied about the situation and provided a totally substandard replacement. Do not trust their promises. All travellers, especially families, should stay away.

Disliked: The placed us in the second floor next to the kitchen and it was loud. The dishes, the clanking and talking starting at 5am in preparation for breakfast. The breakfast is limited. Suggestions for some more western options.

Disliked: If you stay in Cairo Center you will have to adapt to the noise of car traffic. I t was no different here and after 3 days it no longer registered.
Hotel is in excellent location downtown. Room was small and facilities were minimalistic. Also not the best value for money when compared to hotels just nearby. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. Also the need for wanting to charge for machine coffee at breakfast doesn't make sense given the price of the accommodation. Honestly it is just fine for 1 or 2 nights given size of room and minimal facilities.

Liked: I stayed at the hotel for three days while I was in Cairo, and I was very comfortable throughout my stay. The staff were very kind and could speak English fluently. I asked them to do my laundry, and everything came back spotless. The location is also very convenient.

Liked: We had such a great stay at the Malak Palace Hotel! The bed was very clean and comfortable. They have a great spread for a buffet breakfast and the staff was very friendly and helpful!
Disliked: The only thing was the shower was built in a way that all the water leaked out on the floor and we had to mop it up every time.
