Manor Of Groves Hotel

A one night stay whist visiting friends in the area. Room was nice and had what we needed for a one night stay. Bathroom looked like it could do with a little revamp. Breakfast was good but very busy so we had to sit at a table in the reception area which wasn’t a problem as it is a nice area

Liked: Beautiful setting. Classic rooms.

Disliked: Nothing.

Great value, very spacious room, massive bathroom

Liked: Full on relaxation

Everything you need in one place

The room was smelly, the bathroom fan didn't work. The jacuzzi was not working. All the hotel rooms floors were creeky and noisy. You could hear people walking about. The restaurant food was great, the receptionist was friendly and even gave us complimentary drinks as our room was not ready when we arrived. The bar man was unfriendly and clearly just doing the job. I asked him if they sold chocolate, he said no. When I pressed if they had anything sweet at the bar, he picked chocolates that were right in front of him for sale?? This is not the first time we visited this hotel. The same guy is always grumpy. He probably needs a hug! The hotel was busy so I'm guessing they can invest back by upgrading the place

whilst the property is quite ok - good in fact.. i doubt i would stay again.. not made to feel as welcome as other properties.. and was a little surprised when i was having a rest one afternoon and staff just walked in to check they had left towels.. didnt knock didnt announce they were housekeeping.. bit unnerving

Have stayed here a few times and would recommend the superior rooms. For not alot more, they are so much better and value for money. Nice views over the beautiful grounds.
