“Standard room with 2 double beds”

There was 3 adult guests. Before I was searching for a room it automatically put the guests as 2. I booked the room. I booked this room and read the maximum was 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults. When checking in, they advised me I had to pay extra for the third guest, I did not understand why as online it says 3 adults max and that is why I did not call to update. I had to pay $25 for each night we stayed. I asked for what the price covered and they said extra towels. I just found it odd that if the room is for 4 guests, they would not leave that amount of towels, washcloths? They weren’t flexible with this.
