“If hygiene aspects are improved, it will be excellent.”
We stayed one night on the 3rd floor and two nights on the 5th. We came to Seoul to walk the Namsan trail, so this hotel’s location was excellent. The 5th floor in particular had a balcony and a clear view of Namsan Hanok Village, which was great. There are also nice cafés nearby like Hubble and Mont. However, the property is run unmanned and we never saw any staff while we were there. If they just improved the accommodation’s cleanliness a bit (bedding covers, furniture, etc.), it would be really, really excellent.

“Great location but otherwise not so great”
The hotel is across the street from a historical park with good walking paths and close to major shopping areas but cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired.

“Fishing photo”
The hotel lacks the basics of proper operation. It smelled, wasn't cleaned, there was trash piled up in the common areas, no staff were around, and all the facilities and furniture were old and dirty. The air conditioning/ventilation was awful. If the photos had honestly shown this, bargain-seeking guests might come, but the misleading photos made it even more infuriating. All the foreign tourists I met in the lobby that day looked shocked and stunned. My group slept in our clothes because it was so dirty. This isn't just a bad review — someone should report this to the district office so the whole place can be inspected for violations of lodging and hygiene laws. I feel so sorry and embarrassed for the foreigners visiting Korea.

“Acceptable”
Liked: Location was convenient
Disliked: Not as clean as it was made to be, had a cockroach in the room, stains on furniture. Not bad overall but it wasn’t as good as the ratings made it seem to be

“Anyway, it's dirty, and the facilities are bad.”
The hotel’s appearance was nothing like the photos — very old and run-down; I definitely don’t recommend it. There were other people’s hairs and stains on the sheets and towels. The bathrobe and comforter smelled like an older man’s body odor and were unbearable to use. The shower was broken; when you turned it on, water gushed out from the faucet. The shower, sink and toilet are all in one room, but the layout is poor — when you shower the toilet gets soaking wet and can’t be used for a while. One of the electrical outlets was faulty and unusable. I found insects and had to deal with them using the insect spray provided in the room. It’s far from Myeong-dong — about a 15–20 minute walk. The hill is steep and quite tough. I don’t want to stay here again.

“Empty”
Liked: It was right next to a Hanok Village and not too far from the subway. I liked the balcony too.
Disliked: The whole hotel felt sketchy. There were no staff present besides the people who cleaned. I assume the price was so high because of the location, but compared to the other hotels I had stayed at in Korea, this one did not compare and had significantly less to offer. There seemed to be a restaurant on the first floor but there was never anybody there and it was just tables and chairs. The hotel was noticeably empty despite there being a 'no vacancy' sign posted every night we were there.
