Nightcap at Blue Cattle Dog Hotel

Disappointing stay. Room was clean but hallway heavily stained and musky smell. Stairs only access, no disabled access or no lift for luggage. Room very small nowhere to store luggage had to block tiny walkway with luggage unsafe. Very lound construction drilling early morning on weekends. Pub closed early had no patrons. Bed uncomfortable too soft sink into it. Not sound proof heard all the guests in neighbouring rooms clearly.

Liked: Convenient to live in

Disliked: Network reception was legging but otherwise okay

Only problem that mattress is too soft was not comfortable

Liked: A complimentary drink

Disliked: Smelt. noisy fan. Construction site. Could hear everyone walking around. Mattress was way too soft bed not made well. Poor lighting in hallway

Liked: Big bed.Wow!! Lots of room.

Disliked: Bed was too soft for me..no windows to open. I felt a little closer phobic..and no biscuits for my coffee!!

Liked: The beds were comfy. The shower was great. Little extras like the cold glasses in the fridge were nice. The one big bed and the two twin sized ones as opposed to a second big bed for my kids were great. They've clearly worked to make an old hotel upgraded and nice and it has some nice touches.

Disliked: There is no soundproofing whatsoever. I could hear everything that went on outside. The hotel is near a large road so you can hear all the traffic and the big trucks. They had a band in the restaurant that night and while the band was great, there was no sleeping until they were done. I may as well have been in the restaurant. After, there were several people talking and laughing into the night somewhere in the vicinity of my room and it was finally silent around 5:30a. When I arrived to the hotel, the room had a funny smell to it. We thought maybe cleaning solution or marijuana. It got stronger but was gone when we returned from dinner. So it was coming in somehow.
