Liked: We cannot recommend this property highly enough, we didn’t want to leave. It feels like your staying in a wealthy friends bungalow that just happens to have wonderful staff. It’s hard to leave the property. Once you have a gin and tonic or tea in hand you could spend hours just sitting in the garden and taking in the view and beauty of this property. There’s a great library and board games. It’s a real flop and drop destination. The food is outstanding - you must do the cooking class with chef and a tour of the vegetable garden. A must stay in Ella, we can’t wait to return.

Liked: The entire property was beautiful - including the living area, the infinity pool with a stunning view, the room we stayed in - all of it was exceptional. The entire staff was very hospitable, especially Welles who really took care of us, and anticipated our needs and was truly such a joy to be around. We also did a cooking class with Chef Roshan and had so much fun - not only did we learn how to make delicious curries but also had an enjoyable experience. In addition, we had a tasting menu curated by Chef Isuru, which was hands down the best meal we had during our time in Sri Lanka. Overall, Kasun and the entire team went above and beyond to make our stay truly unforgettable.

Liked: A location to take your breath away. We arrived late afternoon and watched the sunset over the valley - just incredible. The old tea planter villa has been beautifully and authentically restored with comfort and sociability in mind. We didn’t read all the details but had taken the all inclusive option (which is advisable) which included all food and drinks. A cool gin and tonic on arrival really was the icing on the cake! We also opted for the cooking class which was great - we will see if we can reproduce anything as tasty!! The food was all delicious and the staff were attentive without being too much. Here you can keep yourself private but the layout in the lounge is such to allow you to converse with other guests which we really enjoyed. If you want to treat yourself - this is the place!

Liked: Fabulous location, modern, super clean and wonderful food. Best hotel of our whole trip. Staff are second to none. Can’t rate it highly enough.

Liked: Fantastic views set in the hills above the railway (Demodara, not Ella) and beautiful gardens and pool. Wonderful G&Ts. Lovely veranda to eat dinner.

Disliked: Having to choose breakfast and dinner well in advance. We found the service at times a bit irritating even though we knew they were trying to be helpful. Very expensive for what it is. Happy to pay more in other locations that offer more but actually this is quite far out of Ella and the food was average (excluding the breakfast which was excellent).
