Pestana Collection Plaza Mayor

Everything is great about this hotel! Recommend.

Liked: It was a convenient location and the interior was well done.

Disliked: The suite is slightly inconvenient for our family of three with a toddler as my preference is for the baby to be in a different room, the sliding doors that separate the living room and the bedroom are not solid doors but luckily our toddler was very tired so he was able to fall asleep despite mom and dad are packing in the other “room”. Also I would love to have used the pool but it’s only open from 11am to 7pm. Was hoping to spend some time with dad at night there when baby is asleep.

Liked: Great location for walking the old historical area of Madrid. Amazing how well soundproofed the rooms were from the plaza and city. The breakfast, which we included in our stay, was absolutely superb! The rooftop pool was extremely lovely, wish it stayed open a bit later in the evenings. Lovely amenities in the room and toiletries as well. Would loved to have used the coffee and teas provided in the room but there was no real place to utilize them with the bedside area tabletops not providing sufficient surface for that and our things as well. The shower was outstanding with great water pressure and excellent fixtures.

Disliked: The room itself was tight, with minimal bedside landing areas. The hallway was utilized as luggage racks rather than having the option to curl up there with a book or such on the couchlike furniture piece there. It seemed very odd that there was no lighting over the bathroom sink and mirror area.

Liked: This was the greatest choice. There is a spa in lower level and I wish I had time for a massage. We used spa pool twice and sauna. Rooftop is cute pool and bartender great too. We loved breakfast. Incredible! Service outstanding. Beds so comfortable and rooms ultra quiet and excellent housekeeping. All perfect.

Disliked: I adjusted to the glass doors in bathroom it was fine but you can see sort of but not really noticeable after a day.

Liked: The location was incredible, at the heart of Madrid. The room had good size and was very comfortable. Breakfast had lots of options.

Disliked: During the first two days of our stay we smelled a strong scent of cigarette coming out of the toilet vent, we complained at the reception, but only two days after the smell stopped.

Excellent location and world class staff.

Disliked: Plaza mayor is quite busy and a little rundown, especially during the daytime hours
